Greensboro College Baseball falls to Roanoke in final game at Truist Park

High Point, NC – On Wednesday, the Greensboro College Baseball team stepped out of conference for a single game with Roanoke College at Truist Point Stadium. This would be the last game of the year for the Pride in High Point, but they would fall to the Maroons by a final score of 14-4.

Roanoke would get on the board first in the top of the first inning to take the early lead, 2-0 and followed that up with five more between the second and third innings. However, in the bottom of the third inning, Junior Cameron Edmunds (Whisett, NC) blasted one over the left field wall to trim the advantage to six runs. Two innings later, the Maroons pushed two more runs across the plate and then added two more on a homerun to increase their lead to 11-1. Greensboro answered back with a Freshman Avery Bishop (Tampa, FL) two RBI single, and they would add another when Freshman Dalton Fryar (Pleasant Garden, NC) scored on a wild pitch. Unfortunately, they were not able to make up any more ground and would drop the game 14-4.

The Pride were led by Bishop who finished 2-3 with two RBI’s and Junior Drake Carrick (Lexington, NC) who went 2-3 with a run.

Greensboro will return to action this weekend, beginning on Friday April 15th, when they travel to Rocky Mount, NC to face North Carolina Wesleyan University. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00pm.
