Connolly Earns Female Student Athlete of the Week Honors
High Point-Thomasville NC— The High Point-Thomasville HiToms, in conjunction with Crescent Ford, High Point Enterprise, and the High Point Rotary Club, are proud to announce the first of six pairs of spring student athlete honorees.
This weeks female recipient of the recognition is Abby Connolly. Connolly, a junior at East Davidson, had a total of 15 goals and three assists in two matches this past week. Against South Davidson, she scored 6 goals and tacked on 3 assists. Connolly followed that performance by scoring all 9 of her teams goals against Thomasville High.
Her skill-set and leadership have helped the Golden Eagles soar their way into a current tie atop the standings in the Central Carolina Conference.
Barker Receives Male Student Athlete of the Week Award
High Point-Thomasville NC– The High Point-Thomasville HiToms, in conjunction with Crescent Ford, High Point Enterprise, and the High Point Rotary Club, are proud to announce the first of six pairs of spring student athlete honorees.
Gabe Barker, a junior at Ledford High School flashed his skills on the mound and at the plate last week. In the first of two wins against Oak Grove last week, Barker went 2 for 2 at the plate while driving in 2 runs, and earned the win on the mound in an 8-2 victory for the Panthers.
He continued the impressive performance in the second contest with an RBI single and striking out six in 5 1/3 innings in a 7-3 win on Wednesday.
