The Grasshoppers were out-hit 12-8, and struck out 11 times, but still found a way to win the game, 5-2…The Grasshoppers go (5-1) in their six-game series at Jersey Shore, and end up finishing their season-opening nine-game road trip, at (7-2), winning both of their series, including going (2-1) at Hudson Valley to begin the road run…
On Sunday, it was Tsung-Che Cheng going 2-5, with 2 RBI, Jackson Glenn at 2-4/1 RBI, Luke Brown 1-3/Double/RBI/Run, Ernny Ordonez 1-4/RBI, Will Matthiessen 1-3/BB/Run, and Sammy Siani 1-4, pacing the Hoppers at the plate…Mike Jarvis had an 0-2 day, but he drew two walks, and scored two runs, while Maikol Escotto went 0-3, but walked once and scored…All hands on deck, in Sunday’s win at Jersey Shore…
(Tsung Che-Cheng’s two-run single in the top of the ninth inning, with the Hoppers in front 3-2, scored Matthiessen and Escotto, and it gave Greensboro all the distance they needed, to secure the victory, 5-2.
Solid win in relief from Michell Miliano, who worked 2 1/3 innings from the bullpen, giving up no runs on three hits, walking none and Miliano recorded five strikeouts…Also out of the pen, Eddy Yean picked up his second save of season, coming on to work the ninth inning, and Yean proceeded to close things out, allowing two hits, but giving up NO runs, plus he had no walks or strikeouts…Two singles off of Yean to start the ninth by the Jersey Shore BlueClaws, but then Yean induces a ground ball, that turns into a 6-4-3 double-play, and next Yean forces another groundout, this one by the ‘Claws Marcus Lee Sang, and that ends the ball game, and the six-game series…
