Tyler Shafer(Southwest Guilford High School) Honored as Male Student Athlete of the Week
High Point-Thomasville NC— The High Point-Thomasville HiToms, in conjunction with Ilderton Dodge, the High Point Enterprise, and the High Point Rotary Club, are proud to announce the fourth of six pairs of spring student athlete honorees.
Tyler Shafer, a senior at Southwest Guilford, took control on the mound and in the batter’s box at last week’s Beach Diamond Invitational. In the Cowboys 3 games at the event, Shafer batted for a .555 average in 9 at bats with a couple home runs and 6 runs batted in. Shafer’s pitching performance was solid with 5 strikeouts and a win to his credit.
Ali Schwartz(Westchester Country Day School) Receives Female Student Athlete of the Week Honors
High Point-Thomasville NC— The High Point-Thomasville HiToms, in conjunction with Ilderton Dodge, the High Point Enterprise, and the High Point Rotary Club, are proud to announce the fourth of six pairs of spring student athlete honorees.
This week’s female recipient of the recognition is Westchester Country Day School Senior, Ali Shwartz. Shwartz’s strong performance at last week’s track and field meet keyed her team’s third place overall finish. Her 800m and 1600m victories came with times of 2.37.2 and 5.45.4 respectively. She was also on the winning 4 x 400m relay team.
