Seniors power Greensboro College Pride Baseball to Senior Day sweep over Southern Virginia

Greensboro, NC – Due to the threat of inclement weather, the Greensboro College Baseball team was forced to rearrange this weekend’s series with Southern Virginia University. Tht meant on Friday they played a doubleheader at Ted Leonard Park, while also honoring their Seniors in between the two games. It would turn out to be a big day for the Pride as they came away with two crucial wins over the Knights, 8-7 and 13-1.

Game One Notables

Freshman Avery Bishop (Tampa, FL) finished they game 3-4, with a homerun, a double, 3 RBI’s and a run
Junior Adam Weber (Mebane, NC) went 3-4 with a double, an RBI and a run
Freshman Michael Richards (Tampa, FL) earned the win on the mound, pitching five innings, while striking out 4 batters

Game Two Notables

Greensboro scored nine runs in the sixth inning
Junior Drake Carrick (Lexington, NC) finished 4-4 with 2 RBI’s and 2 runs
Weber went 2-3 with 2 RBI’s and 3 runs
Senior Cam Edmonds(Eastern Guilford High School/Whitsett, NC) drove in 4 runs
Senior Connor Morehouse (Kansas City, MO) finished 3-4 with and RBI and 2 runs
Senior Sam Peddycord (Kernersville, NC) earned the win on the mound striking out 7 batters, while only giving up 3 hits and 1 run

The Pride will complete the series with Southern Virginia on Monday, April 24th at Ted Leonard Park. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00pm.
