HOW IT HAPPENED

After a leadoff walk in the top of the fourth from Samantha Lagrama, Rylie Williams who pinch ran for her advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt and ended up crossing home on a two-run home run from Jessie Shipley.

Cumbie led off the top of the fifth with a double to right center and with two runners on Loftin also doubled for a 5-1 advantage. The Mocs responded with a run in the bottom of the frame as Kaili Phillips hit a sacrifice fly to cut the deficit back to three, 5-2.

The Spartans were selective at the plate scoring three runs on one hit, four walks, and one hit-by-pitch in the top of the sixth for an 8-2 lead.
