GREENSBORO, N.C.– The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team heads to Macon, Georgia to face Mercer in a three-game series to continue Southern Conference (SoCon) play.

Scouting the Spartans
The Spartans are 18-23 overall and 5-7 in SoCon play.

Dosi Jonas is leading the Spartans with a batting average of .348 (39-for-112) in 33 games, with a team-best 12 doubles.
Jonas, Kennedy Jones (.335), and Daniel Cerda (.319) are the three Spartans batting over .300.
Jonas is leading the conference in home runs per game (0.36) and slugging percentage (0.777) and is second in runs batted in per game (1.24).
Nationally, Jonas is 22nd in slugging percentage, 48th in home runs per game, and 50th in runs batted in per game.
In 56.0 innings pitched, Jake Wolf has a 4.50 ERA with a team-best 31 strikeouts and just 37 runs allowed. He is 3-2 on the mound with one save in 19 appearances.
Jonas leads the Spartans with 12 home runs, while Jones has hit eight. Caleb Cozart and Dallas Callahan have hit six each. Rowan Watt and Cerda have hit four home runs each, while Zack Budzik and Mitchell Smith have hit three home runs a piece and Bradley Bott has one.
Nine Spartans have double-figure RBI, with Jonas leading the team with 41 of the 231 RBIs.

Scouting the Mercer Bears
Mercer has a record of 26-16 overall this season with an 8-4 SoCon record.
The Bears are coming off a 6-3 loss against Georgia Tech on Tuesday evening.
Prior to that game, Mercer went 2-1 against VMI, including a 22-15 victory during the Sunday match up.
Carter Sanford won Collegiate Baseball National and SoCon Player of the Week on April 24.
The Bears are leading the conference in base on balls (212), hit batters (59), home runs (71), and home runs per game (1.69).
Nationally Mercer is 18th in fielding percentage (0.980), 19th in double plays (36), 20th in home runs (71), 24th in sacrifice bunts (27) and hit by pitch (72), 31st in home runs per game, 36th in double plays per game (0.86), 46th in base on balls.

As the number four seed in the SoCon Tournament, UNCG defeated the second-seeded Mercer Bears on May 28 16-5, and later went on to win the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament with the Spartans’ second title since 2017.
