Hoppers-12-12-1
Braves- 1- 7-0

Greensboro Grasshoppers(14-7)
Rome Braves(8-12)

On Sunday afternoon, the theme for the Greensboro Grasshoppers was Attack, Attack, Attack, Attack, and that is exactly what they did…Six home runs from the Hoppers, yes count them, the ball goes LONG GONE, six times in this contest for the home team, with three smacks to left, and three long smashes to right field…

Jackson Glenn says he won’t be fooled again, and he helps the Hoppers get the win, with his BIG day at the plate…Glenn with not one, not two, but THREE home runs in the Sunday afternoon affair with the Rome Braves…Glenn goes 4-4, with a single and three home runs, with three runs scored and Six RBI…We saw it in a Sunday afternoon game last season, with Hoppers’ Matt Gorski going yard three times, but on this Sunday, Glenn takes it out of the ballpark three times, and then his teammates come up with three more HR’s for the Hoppers’ total of Six Home Runs on Sunday afternoon, April 30, 2023…Just for good measure, Jackson Glenn walked during his last at bat, so he ended up reaching base five times on Sunday…

Mike Jarvis, who had two home runs back on Saturday, he hit a Grand Slam home run on Sunday afternoon….Tsung-Che Cheng led off the bottom of the first inning with a shot to right field, and that was the Grasshoppers first home run of the day….In the bottom of the second inning, Mike Jarvis went LONG GONE to left field with his Grand Salami, then two batters later, Jackson Glenn came up with the first of his three gopher balls, as he left the yard, with a solo shot to left field…In the fourth inning, Jackson Glenn did it again, as he came up with a two-run homer to left field…We move ahead to the sixth inning, and the Grasshoppers are already up 10-0 in the ballgame, but Jackson Glenn can taste the wind, and he let’s go with his third round-tripper of the contest, this time, it was Glenn with a solo HR to right field…Not to be outdone in that sixth frame, Hudson Head let loose with his own LONG GONE solo blast to right field, and the Greensboro Grasshoppers had their sixth home run of the afternoon…

What more can you say about this day??? Well, Jase Bowen had double, and he scored twice…Sammy Siani went 2-3, with a walk, and a run scored…Michael Escotto walked twice and scored a run…Cheng ended up 2-4, with a BB and two runs…Mike Jarvis had his Grand Slam, four RBI and he scored two runs…Jarvis officially 1-4/BB…Hudson Head was 2-5, with his HR…

The Hoppers sure made the most of their twelve hits on Sunday, with half of the Hoppers’ hits leaving the ole’ ball, and resulting in those Six Home Runs…The long balls were the highlighters of Sunday’s action…Same old song, LONG GONE, and that song, never gets old…

The Steak n Shake Player of the Game, no arguments, Jackson Glenn owns it on Sunday…

Greensboro’s starting pitcher Anthony Solometo did not get the win, but he turned in four solid innings of work for the Hoppers on Sunday…For Solometo, the left-hander, it was 0 Runs, on two hits, with three walks and six big strikeouts…Grant Ford(WP) came on for Solometo, and Ford worked two frames, allowing no Brave hits, with one walk, four strikeouts, and one hit batter…Michell Miliano entered the game in the seventh inning, and proceeded to give up no runs, on one hit, with one walk, and two strikeouts…Jack Carey was on the hill for the Hoppers in the eighth inning, and Jack did not look back, as he kept the shutout going, with no runs, on one hit, with one walk, and two strikeouts…Cy Nielson finished for the Hoppers in the ninth inning, and Cy did not have his best stuff, as he let the shutout get away, when the Bravos touched up Nielson for their lone run, on three hits, with one walk, and Cy Nielson struck out two Rome batters…

Drake Baldwin was 2-5 for Rome at the plate, and Baldwin crossed home plate, for the Braves only run of the game…A groundout by Geraldo Quintero brought Baldwin to the plate…RBI Quintero…Adam Zebrowski went 2-5 for the Braves…Brandol Mezquita had a 2-4 day for Rome..Ignacio Alvarez was 1-1, with four walks for the Braves…Keshawn Ogans went 0-1, with three walks, and was hit by a pitch for Rome…

Sort of in long form, we have given the direct breakdown of the Sunday win by the Greensboro Grasshoppers over the Rome Braves…We need to say it one more time, the key to Sunday’s success, was Attack, Attack, Attack, Attack, and let the force of the LONG GONE Home Run be with you…(By attacking and being aggressive, the Grasshoppers were already up, 8-0, at the end of the second inning.)
