Caldwell Student/Athletes over the past two weeks,
May 8—20, 2023 have participated in a number of
STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS — Track & Field, Golf, Baseball & Soccer.
Here are the team results with individual honors.
GOLF:: team placed 3rd out of 33 competing teams. Zach Kupiec & Daniel Norris placed in the top
ten (10) out of 227 golfers with Zach Kupiec named ALL-STATE.
SOCCER:: Girls team was seeded #5 in playoffs and
had a bye to the 3rd round. They defeated Friendship
Christian School by a score of 3—0. Isabella Rocque
scored 2 goals, Sierra Raven had 1 assist & Kaylie
Kocher had a goal & assists. Goalkeepper, Madison
Bozarth had 8 SOG . Isabella Rocque was named
MaxPrepPlayer of the game. In the quartfinals, Caldwell
lost to Davidson Day( eventual state champs) by a score of 2—1. Isabella Rocque scored the only goal which was her 36th for the season setting a new school record for goals in a season & was also named MaxPrepPlayer of the game. Goalkeepper, Madison Bozarth had 8SOG & 7SS. Team finished with a recortd of 12W—5L, ranked
#2 in NCISAA 2A, # 19 in Greensboro & # 117 in
North Carolina..

BASEBALL: Team had a first round victory over
Salem Baptist by a score of 4—0. Jacob Trivette
pitched 4 innings, striking out 10 batters for the win.
Gabe Connelly lead the hitting with 2 hits & 1 hit
each from the following- Cal Hubbard, Hunter Riffey,
Jacob Trivette, S McBurney, Will Brown & J3 Swindell.
Team lost in the 2nd round to Grace Christian by a score
of 11—4. J. Trivette, K. Moles, J3 Swindell &
S. McBurney each had1 hit . Jack Pearman pitched
2.2 innings & strikeout 4 batters.
PTAC ALL-CONFERENCE Senior Catcher, 2nd year,
Jacob Trivette. He lead team in batting .380,, Home
Runs 2,, RBI 12 & RUNS 13. Will be playing
collegiately next year for Bluefield State.
TRACK & FIELD held there State Championship
meet at Lenoir-Rhyne University, Hickory, NC.
The WOMEN’S Team came in 8th place with a score
of 44 points competing against 20 teams,
TOP 2 FINISHERS for Caldwell, with 1st-8th
making ALL-STATE HONORS.
