Greensboro Grasshoppers Drop to the Hickory Crawdads, 10-8 on Friday Evening

GREENSBORO, NC – The Greensboro Grasshoppers dropped to the Hickory Crawdads, 10-8 on Friday, September 1. The Crawdads improved to 37-20 in the second half of the season while the Grasshoppers fell to 28-29. Greensboro outhit Hickory 13-11 as both teams had two errors.
Leading at the plate was outfielder Tres Gonzalez as he went 3-6 with two RBI and one run scored. Following close behind was outfielder Hudson Head as he went 3-5 with a double, one RBI, and one run scored.
Starting on the mound for Greensboro was righthanded pitcher Po-Yu Chen as he tallied three strikeouts and gave up six hits, and four earned runs on three innings of work. Chen took the loss for the Grasshoppers and fell to 5-8 on the season.
Jackson Kelley recorded the win for the Crawdads and improved to 1-1 on the season.
The Grasshoppers are back in action at home against the Hickory Crawdads tomorrow, Saturday September 2. Come out to First National Bank Field for Thank You, Donald Night and Spectacular Saturday Fireworks at the Hoppers game.
