High School Football TONIGHT
WS Atkins(1-5) at Eastern Guilford(5-1) 7pm
The EG Wildcats are rolling right now and I don’t the WS Atkins Camels will stand in the way of Eastern Guilford earning win #6 tonight….EG with QB Jackson Jones, a true lefty, plus RBs Javen Cole and Caleb Creech, with WR Steven Murray, then on defense you have LBs Tavion Bullock, Samari Smith, and J’dyn Boyd doing the popping…Plenty of popping and no stopping EG until they meet the Dudley Panthers on Friday October 27 at EG’s Tommy Grayson Stadium…That night will be one of those All Hallows Eve…Going to be very interesting, the closer we get to that date…

Southern Guilford(0-6) at Smith(2-4) 7pm
The soothsayers say go with Smith on the Day after October fifth…And with the Eagles and their QB Hatchell, they should have a satchell full of offense that will carry the Golden Eagles to win #3 on the season, and at (3-4) it is hard to break it all down, but Smith is playing better overall, and SG is still just too young for now….

Rockingham County(4-2) at High Point Central(0-6) 7pm
Too much ROCK Cougars and not enough HP Central Bison in this one…Not enough of those Thundering Bison to take down the likes of the Cougars and their QB Brice Baker…

Asheville Christian(2-4) at High Point Christian Academy(6-0) 7pm
Give us a full menu load of QB Eley and RB Devore from the HPCA Cougars and we will take them in a solid victory, and this win will allow them to be the only Unbeaten team in Guilford County, other than the Grimsley Whirlies, who were (15-0) last season, and now sit at (6-0) thus season making our new modern-day math ring them up at (21-0) over the last two seasons…HPCA lives for their upcoming (7-0) start, but they must lock it down, with a win tonight over Asheville Christian…

Pine Lake(5-1) at Bishop McGuinness(3-3) 7pm
Got to lean toward Pine Lake, since they are are (5-1), but no lack of respect for Bishop and the improvement that the Villains are showing…They may not top Pine Lake, but Bob Seagar’s Fire Lake is attainable…Remember when Bob was singing about heading out to, “Fire Lake”…

Ragsdale(1-5) at Grimsley(6-0) 7:30pm
Was it John F. Kennedy who said, “All we have to Fear, is Fear Itself”??? Well if you are the Grimsley Whirlies, the only team that can beat Grimsley right now, is Grimsley…They are way too strong these days, with a steady and upward rising QB in Faizon Brandon, plus their wideouts in Taylor and Anderson, with Mitchell Summers planning on making the Fall of the Year, his favorite season..Hard to top what that bunch can throw at you right now…The Grimsley JVs, well how are they looking??? They are looking at you with a perfect (6-0) record….

Northwest Guilford(4-2) at Northern Guilford(2-4) 7:30pm…We will have this game for you, with the game broadcast on GreensboroSportsRadio.com…..Don Tilley and Nile Harris will join us for this NWG at NG broadcast….Both clubs have plenty of weapons and in some ways NWG QB Tanner Ballou can look in the mirror and see where he was just a couple of years ago, when Ballou was a sophomore and on the rise, and now he sees NG sophomore QB Jaxson Kemp…Kemp, like Grimsley’s Faizon Brandon, is a quarterback on the rise…NWG lost to Grimsley two weeks ago, and the Vikings were feeling a bit of a hangover when traveled to Page last week, and survived with a 14-7 victory over the Pirates…Northern on the other hand is playing with Larry, Curly, and Mo on their sidelines…You know Mo, Mr. Momentum…But NWG has Ballou, they have WR Trent Cloud, RB Malique Jones, and I think you will see NWG start to use senior WR Prince Brown in more packages now…NG for sure has Kemp at the controls…With RBs Amare Akers and Dwight Hall, then you have WRs King, Cohen, Willoughby, and Morrison….Van or Jim Morrison would be proud of the job #80 Morrison is doing for the Nighthawks…So the offenses are stacked, yes they are loaded, so it will come down to the Fence…The DEFENSE…NWG with Thomas Orrell as a key leader, and NWG with Jaxon Moore giving more than at times is humanly possible…You might better wait and pick your winner for this game at the Mid-Way point of the Fourth Quarter….Cohen Muse, the NG kicker and Nate Wallace, the NWG kicker better keep their shoes tied tight…..

Southeast Guilford(3-3) at Southwest Guilford(3-3) 7:30pm…We will have this game for you, with Demetri Morrison on the broadcast, on GreensboroSportsRadio.com 2…Cale Lloyd with over 200 yards passing for SWG last week, and now he gets a shot at the Southeast Guilford Falcons…SEG has not had a chance to put together a regular run this season due to several injuries and we are not sure week-in, week-out who will be hanging out at QB for SEG….Southwest saw Southeast win the JV game, but we are talking Varsity here, and guys like Jaylen Carl are ready to step up and step out for the SWG Cowboys…Going to be a dogfight at The Ranch, but Cowboys have an edge since they have had more continuity in their lineup this season…

Page(2-4) at Western Guilford(1-5) 7:30pm
Northwest Guilford much pretty shut down and bottled up the top Page Pirate RB Maurice Andrews last week, and the job NWG did on Andrews was impressive, but Page responded by getting Elijah Jones running East to West, plus Dyvion Barley got running as a Wildcat QB for Page, and the Pirates QB Nigel Hinson was throwing the ball well for the Pirates, with his top receiver Peguese finding ways to get open, and don’t forget the Page fearless Freshman, Kasai Poindexter….Poindexter is by far one of the top freshman in the county this season…For Western, it will be the same old problem for the Hornets…Enough Hornets, but not enough Horses…WG has the Hornets, but when it comes to the Horses, Western is lacking…Timothy Baker is a mover and Shaker, but he he does not have enough Horses and Wagons surrounding him…Page will do their thing, and Western will be looking for the Horses/Players that got away, during the Northwestern Expansion…

Saturday October 7:
Northeast Guilford(5-1) at Dudley(6-0) 12 NOON
Hold your horses, we have Saturday football, and this game is listed as one of the top games in the area by some of the local sources, but it will not be that way, when the final tally is totaled…No dis on NEG, because the Rams are seeing improvement, but when you face a Dudley team that is averagaing right at 50 points a game, you begin to wish this game was being played indoors, and that it was a basketball game, but no such luck for the RAMS…This is one of those outdoor pigskin battles, and this game is in The House, it’s in “The Panthers’ House”…QB Andrew/Drew Attmore II, RB LJ Southern, Jayden Brown, and Rayshawn Wilson…And you might tell us to stop right there, that is enough…But no, DUDLEY also will run right past you with CJ Neely, Kordell Bartley, Nasir Newkirk, and Jerron Blackwell…If this was a basketball game, I would look for Dudley to put up a 50 spot in the first half….Since this is football game, the clock will be the best friend of both teams…For Dudley it will force them to let it all run fast and hard in the first half, so Dudley will reach its 50-point goal by halftime, and for NEG, if the clock is running non-stop to begin the second half, Northeast will be spared some of the suffering that goes with time being held in space…And that is one space you can’t replace…The point is not that Dudley wins by 50, the point is that Dudley scores 50….Many Panther players can expect to sit and watch much of the second half…But strike up the band, Dudley will land themselves some playoff prep in this ballgame…Tucker, Tate, and many others will called upon by the NEG Ram coaches to keep on Pounding against the Panthers, but the DUDLEY Panthers are a much better take, and much harder to take down these days, than the Carolina PANTHERS…

Morehead(0-7) at High Point Andrews(3-3) 4pm
We have two Saturday games, and you may be seeing a second 50-point effort in High Point, with the Andrews Red Raiders led by QB Devin Hackstall, RB Correy McManus, and WR Corey Pate, all with the potential to help HPA put up at least 50 on the OTHER Panthers, the MOREHEAD Panthers…This one won’t be pretty to watch, unless you are a diehard HP Andrews fan, and then it might look like a Thanksgiving Day feast to you…

If we could bring back the Leonard’s Losers Show, where Leonard picked all the Losers, and if we could resurrect the Old San Quentin Quayle from the High Point Enterprise, as their expert picker, those two feast of famine fellows would have a field day with our games this week….
