UNCG Men’s Cross Country Competed at the Royals Cross Country Challenge
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men’s cross country team placed 25th overall at the Royals Cross Country Challenge on Friday night at the McAlpine Greenway Park.
The Spartans totaled 648 points for 25th place out of eight teams. Milligan earned the team and individual title, as senior Will Stockley clocked in a time of 24:30.2 in the eight-kilometer gold race.
Freshman Khalid Abdullahi was the first Blue & Gold across the finish line with a time of 26:46.3, in his first collegiate race. Junior Spencer Connick was the second Spartan to earn points for the team with his time of 28:09.6 placing 174th.
Graduate student Cooper Neeble took home 188th with a time of 28:31.5, for his first appearance in the Blue & Gold. Freshman Judah Weesner clocked in a time of 29:11.8, finishing 216th overall in his second-collegiate race.
Freshmen Glodi Mvovi and Logan Thanos were the final Spartans to cross the finish line, taking home 237th and 239th, respectively. Mvovi ran a time of 30:20.3, while Thanos finished the race in 30:33.3. This was Mvovi’s collegiate debut.
UP NEXT
Both the men’s and women’s cross country teams will tune up at the Upstate Invitational on Saturday, October 14 in Spartanburg, South Carolina before hitting the course for the 2023 SoCon Championship on Friday, October 27 in Kernersville, North Carolina.
The women will run a five-kilometer race in the Palmetto State at 9:00 a.m., while the men’s eight-kilometer run is scheduled to begin at 9:45 a.m.
