UNCG Women’s Golf Second After Round 1 of The UNCG Collegiate

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women’s golf team completed the first round of the UNCG Collegiate second on Monday, October 9 at Grandover Golf Course.

The student-athlete’s positions on the leaderboard reflect their scores after a complete round one and part of round two.

Grace Holcomb led the Spartans to start the tournament with a score of one-under-par (71) and is currently tied for third. Julia Baeumken collected a round-one score of two-over-par (74) and is tied for 21st. Holcomb and Baeumken collected three birdies each on the front nine and one on the back nine.

Elle Burnette posted a score of three-over-par (75) for the Spartans, collecting four total birdies, one on the front nine and three on the back nine. Alex Phelps started her round with a birdie on hole two to post a score of four-over-par (76). Ava Romfo rounded out the team score for UNCG with a seven-over-par (79) performance.

Competing as individuals, Anna Bowman finished five-over-par (77), making two birdies on the front nine. Tallying two birdies on the front nine and one on the back nine, Gabriela Cruz concluded the round with a score of six-over-par (78). Victoria Cook rounded out the individuals posting a score of eight-over-par (80).

UP NEXT

The Spartans continue the UNCG Collegiate at Grandover Golf Course with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. to conclude round two and complete round three.
