SoCon announces five games on CBS Sports Network during 2023-24 season

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men’s basketball team will be featured in two of five regular-season The Southern Conference (SoCon) men’s basketball games to be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network this season.

“The Southern Conference’s partnership with CBS Sports Network creates important national exposure for our teams through high-end linear television broadcasts,” SoCon Commissioner Michael Cross said. “The opportunity to tell the stories of our student-athletes and their institutions is a recognition of the SoCon as a perennially strong mid-major basketball conference. CBS Sports Network provides an amazing platform for the nation to see the SoCon’s compelling teams first-hand.”

The first game in the package will be Saturday, Jan. 13, when UNCG visits Chattanooga at 7 p.m. The Spartans won both matchups a season ago by double figures en route to finishing third in the conference standings with a 20-12 overall record and a 14-4 SoCon record. The Mocs were 18-17 overall and 7-11 in conference play in 2022-23 to finish the regular season seventh in the league, but advanced to the 2023 SoCon Tournament final after winning three games at the Ingles SoCon Men’s Basketball Championship.

Western Carolina plays at UNCG on Wednesday, Feb. 21, to round out the league’s games on CBS Sports Network.

UNCG begins its 2023-24 season against Greensboro foe NC A&T on Friday, November 10 at 7 p.m. inside the Greensboro Coliseum.
