Hernandez to Make PGA Tour Debut in Puerto Rico Open This March
PUERTO RICO – Freshman standout Kelvin Hernandez spent his winter break back home by competing in the Michelob Ultra Tour Championship in Puerto Rico. Hernandez finished runner-up at the tournament to earn a debut appearance in the PGA Tour in March of 2024.
“It has been an amazing year being able to play back home in the Michelob Ultra Tour and being able to compete at a high level”, said Hernandez. “This tour gives us the chance to be able to play in the Puerto Rico Open and this year I was fortunate enough to qualify and earn one of the spots for the PR Open. I am super excited and it is truly and honor to be able to be the other Puerto Rican representing Puerto Rico at the PR Open. This has been a childhood goal of mine and being able to do it now it is an amazing feeling.”
Hernandez finished the Michelob Ultra Tour Championship with an 11-under-par (205) with rounds of 69-66-70 in the three-round tournament.
Hernandez will make his PGA Tour debut on Thursday, March 7, 2024 in the Puerto Rico Open.
