This boys game was a battle between two very good teams…Southern Guilford has now gone on the road and knocked off Dudley and Smith…Dwayane Wade and LeBron James used to have their Big Three with the Miami Heat, and then LeBron got the Big Three going with him, Kyrie Irving and maybe Kevin Love with the Cleveland Cavaliers, but Southern Guilford really has their Big Three clicking and running on All Cylinders with Ferere, Dawkins and Love…Dudley would cut the lead to just four points and the Panthers would bust their butts getting those key buckets, but the Southern would come right back up the court and score with a recognition pass, from Ferere to Love or Dawkins, and SG was making most of those equlizer baskets look easy….SG always had that Equlizer Basket, no matter what Dudley did…Dawkins, Love, and Ferere know where each other are on the court at all times…They make a move, and the feed is right on the money from Jamias, Jyi, or Jucqarie…SG J3…They are something to see, Jamias, Jyi, and Jucqarie….And like I was saying, big props and credit to the Dudley Panthers, they were down 12-14 points and they would battle back and cut the SG lead to 4 or even 2 points, but Dudley never had the Equalizer…Dudley had a key J of their own, holding his own and more, and that was CJ Jones..Jones finished the night with 21 team-leading points for Dudley, and he was hitting threes, twos and FTs…Need to see Nasir Newkirk get invovled in the scoring, knowing the athlete he is, it will be coming soon…Jerron Blackwell for Dudley started gettting better looks for the Panthers as the game wore on, and he finished with 17 points for the Panthers…Dudley needs CJ Neely hitting for more than just 10 points, they need Neely up around 15-16 points per game….Another bright spot for Dudley was guard Lishawn Speller…That Speller feller was working his tail off on offense and defense for the Panthers and he is a plus in the backcourt for Dudley…The Dudley thing needed on this Friday night was the Equlizer, and they could not find that elusive finish that would give them the tie in the ballgame in the late stages….Dudley gets The Equalizer and you might have seen a different ending…But as it is, tonight the props have to go to the Southern Guilford Storm…They have gone into Smith and Dudley and walked out with crucial Mid-State 3-A Conference Victories…Dudley did not have The Equalizer, but SG had that J3, and as we see, that meant V-I-C-T-O-R-Y….Next the week the road to the Conference Title will run through Lincoln Street, Eastern Guilford School Road, Drake Road, and South Holden Road…Get on the road, and don’t look back, because if you look back, you might miss the rack….Stay on the Attack, and when the game is over get a Snack, and then hit the Sack…Then get up the next day, and repeat the previous day’s duties and due-diligence….

End of First Quarter:Dudley 10, SG 4…Halftime:Dudley 31, SG 9…End of Third Quarter:Dudley 43, SG 15…Final:Dudley 52, SG 21
Dudley scoring:Adriana Moses 11 points, Jalyn Taylor 10, Heaven Cooper 9, Kimora Haith 8, Jewwl Pass 6, Raelyen Baker 4, Nadia Vonreichbauer 2…
SG scoring:Courtney Griffith 10 points, Kenley Brown 4, Saniya Parker 3, Charlee Slaughter 2, Danielle Walker 2…
The Dudley girls have a boat-load of solid, quick guards and the coach Frank McNeil rotation seems to be working with his girls tuned and zoned into a (5-0) conference mark….Dudley is currently right there with the Smith Golden Eagle ladies…Dudley leaning heavily on those guards, with the freshman Adriana Moses being one of quickest Panthers we have seen…Moses, Raelyn Baker, and Jalyn Taylor all started at guard for Dudley, and then the Panthers were able to come with Kimora Haith and Jewel Pass from the Panthers’ bench, with key reserve strength…But don’t get me or the coach wrong…Haith and Pass are just like starters and both of them showed that they can run the floor on Friday night…Run the floor, or rule the floor, need we say more, Haith with 8 points, and Pass with six points, those 14 points off the pine will serve you fine, when the game is on the line….Moses had her 11 points, and she wears the #11 jersey, so she may want to switch to maybe the #30 jersey as she enters her later years and James B. Dudley HS(Hit for your jersey #, YES)….With all of those guards, Dudley had the post spot pretty pinned down with Heaven Cooper…She is no Michael Cooper, but he was a guard and she is post player, so that is how that works as you define that detail…And speaking of details, Nadia Vonreichbauer is charged with looking inside and outside for her shots…Nadia will have to figure out where she is best suited, and there were several instances in the game, where I felt Dudley would be best suited to forget so many of the threes, and just go get the twos…Get it to the basket, got to the hole, head to bucket, attack the rack….You know what I mean….Dudley at Eastern Guilford next Tuesday and then the Panthers make the BIG trip over to Ben L. Smith High School next Wednesday night…Smith vs. Dudley is going to Super-Sized for the boys and the girls games…Girls teams both look to be Unbeaten going in, and the boys will be fighting to stay in close proximity of the Southern Guilford Storm…Right now for the boys in the Mid-State 3-A Confernece, second place is not that bad of a deal…Buiness is about to pick up on South Holden Road for next Wednesday night….For the SG girls, Courtney Griffith is the engine/motor that is going to make those Storm girls run….The SG offense must run through Griffith, each time down the floor…No less, no more….
