UNCG Baseball Welcomes Elon for Tuesday Matchup
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team will host Elon for a weekday matchup on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 4 p.m. at the UNCG Baseball Stadium.
All regular season baseball home games are free admission. Concessions will not be open and outside food is permitted. Concessions will open March 22 during the Mercer series and outside food will not be permitted when concessions open. All weekday home games (not including Friday) will be Bark in the Park games, where spectators can bring their dogs.

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
UNCG heads in Tuesday’s matchup against Elon with a 5-2 overall record.
The Spartans most recently went 1-2 in their series against Binghamton.
The team closed out the series with a 6-3 win over the Bearcats on Sunday, Feb. 25.
Caleb Cozart recorded a grand slam in Sunday’s game sending the Spartans past the Bearcats.
Winning pitcher, Rob Ready and closer, Noah Chapman combined for a total of zero walks and six strikeouts.
Jeremy Wolf and Zachary Walsh led the Spartans with two runs apiece.
Jake Ogden and Jacob Budzik paced UNCG with two hits apiece.
Prior to UNCG’s weekend series against Binghamton, the team claimed a 4-3 victory over No. 1 Wake Forest at the UNCG Baseball Stadium on Tuesday, Feb. 20.
As a team, the Spartans are currently ranked 32nd nationally with 16 batters hit by pitch.
In addition, UNCG stands out nationally at 41st with 14 stolen bases and a 2.00 stolen bases per game average.
Cozart is in a tie for first nationally with six homers this season and is ranked second in the country with a 0.86 home runs per game average.
Sam Murchison and Sammy Tortorella are leading the Spartans on the mound with 11 strikeouts apiece this season.
The Spartans finished the 2023 season with a 25-34 overall record and 9-12 in The Southern Conference (SoCon) to earn the sixth spot in the SoCon Preseason Coaches’ Poll.
Ready was named to the Preseason All-SoCon second team after his efforts on the mound last season.
SCOUTING THE PHOENIX
The Phoenix will head over to Greensboro with a 3-4 overall record this season.
Elon most recently went 2-1 in its series against NJIT in Elon, N.C. at Latham Park.
The team closed out the series with a 12-7 win over the Highlanders on Sunday, Feb. 25.
Ben Sieracki led the Phoenix out of the bullpen with five strong innings only allowing just one run in Elon’s win Sunday.
As a team, Elon is currently ranked in the top-50 nationally over 12 categories: batting average (.350), doubles (17), doubles per game (2.43), hit batters (19), hits (96), home runs (12), home runs per game (1.71), on base percentage (.452), runs (80), sacrifice flies (6), scoring (11.4) and slugging percentage (.544).
Kenny Mallory Jr. is pacing Elon with 11 runs this season and is 12th nationally with a .591 batting average.
Charlie Granatell stands out at the plate this season, being ranked fourth nationally with 17 hits and third nationally with seven doubles.
Ryan Sprock leads the Phoenix with 13 RBI, standing 27th nationally.
Justin Mitrovich stands out on the mound at third nationally with 20 total strikeouts.
Elon was picked to finish fifth in the 2024 CAA Preseason Poll, while Mitrovich was named to the 2024 Preseason All-CAA Team.
