Baseball Drops 6-3 Contest to Elon
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team dropped a 6-3 contest to Elon at the UNCG Baseball Stadium on Tuesday.

Elon was able to get on the board first in the game after Connor Offshack sent a double to left center to score Ryan Sprock (1-0). The Phoenix added one more run in the third inning after Sprock grounded out to Aidan Brewer, sending James Broderick home to give UNCG the 2-0 lead. The Phoenix added to their advantage with two more runs in the fourth and one more in the fifth with a homer from Sprock for Elon to take a 5-0 lead.

The Spartans recorded their first set of runs in the fifth inning. With Caleb Cozart on first base and Jeremy Wolf on third, Trey Truitt stepped up to the plate sending a home run down the left field lin for three RBI (5-3).

Elon added one more run in the eighth inning with a fly out to right field from Tanner Holliman, scoring Alex Duffey for the 6-3 win.


Jake Ogden reached first base with walks on two occasions.
Three Spartans were hit by a pitch.
In Julien Peissel’s second start of the season, he went 5.1 innings with five strikeouts.

The Spartans will continue at the UNCG Baseball Stadium by hosting Canisius for a weekend series from Friday, March 1 to Sunday, March 3.
