Guilford Selected To Host Second Weekend of NCAA Tournament
Third Round to be played Friday, Quarterfinals Saturday inside Ragan-Brown Field House

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Who is ready for round two? For the first time in over a decade, the NCAA Division-III Men’s Basketball Tournament is coming back to the campus of Guilford College for a second weekend, as announced by the NCAA on Sunday.

“It is a tremendous honor to be selected by the NCAA to host this event,” Director of Athletics Bill Foti said. “Our men’s basketball team has earned this, and our tremendous staff and Guilford athletics community put on a terrific event last weekend. We look forward to repeating the feat this weekend for the benefit of our Guilford community, in addition to those visiting our campus from Christopher Newport, Keene State, and Williams.”

The selection is made by an NCAA Committee considering not only quality of team, but also travel and lodging accommodations, hosting experience, and how well a school hosted in the past.

Guilford will host the four teams who advanced to the third round, or the Sweet Sixteen as it is called at the Division-I level, in their quadrant of the bracket. This results in welcoming Christopher Newport University and Williams College, who came out of the Widener and Oswego State host sites respectively on opening weekend, for the neutral site contest, in addition to the Quakers’ opponent, Keene State, who, like Guilford, defended their home floor to advance to the third round.

Game times will be 4:15 PM for the neutral site contest between the Captains and the Ephs, before GC hosts the Owls at 7:15 PM. The winners of those games will then advance to the Sectional Championship game on Saturday at 7:15 PM to earn the right to travel to Fort Wayne, Indiana for the National Semifinals round.

Tickets will be sold in advance online beginning on Wednesday at noon, remaining tickets will be cash only and available at the box office pregame. All Saturday tickets will be cash only, sold on Saturday in-person.
