With back-to-back lead-off doubles from Tori Dalehite and Jessie Shipley, the Spartans cut the deficit to 3-1. Grace Loftin drove in the second run on a sacrifice fly, 3-2, while Anna White tied the game at three with an RBI single down the left field line. With the bases loaded and two outs, Madelyn McKinnon walked to score the fourth run for the Spartans.
In the bottom of the sixth, UNCG’s offense continued to add to its tally. With one out and runners in scoring position, White connected on a full count and drove the ball out to center field extending the Spartans’ lead to three, 6-3.
