Baseball Drops Final Game in Series at No. 10 Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team dropped its final game of the series at No. 10 Clemson on Sunday, 6-3 at the Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Spartans scored first in the contest after Jake Ogden singled through the left side on a 1-0 count, bringing in Trey Truitt for the 1-0 lead.

UNCG added to its advantage in the fourth inning. With Spartans occupying all bases, Luke Jenkins was able to force a walk to first base, to push Caleb Cozart home (2-0).

Clemson recorded three runs in the sixth inning to take the 3-2 lead over the Spartans.

Mitchell Smith was able to tie the game in the seventh inning after sending his first home run of the 2024 season to left field (3-3).

The Tigers responded with two more runs in the seventh inning and one in the eighth to come away with the 6-3 win.

NOTES:
The Spartans recorded a total of seven hits in the game.
UNCG had zero errors.
Luke Holland led the team with two hits.
Cozart paced the Spartans with six putouts.
Rob Ready led the team on the mound with two strikeouts.
