UNCG Baseball Set for Tuesday Matchup at No. 13 NC State
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team will compete against its third ranked opponent of the 2024 season at No. 13 N.C. State on Tuesday, March 12 at 6 p.m. in Raleigh N.C., at Doak Field at Dail Park.

Julien Peissel was selected as the SoCon Pitcher of the Week after starting off on the mound in UNCG’s win over No. 1 Wake Forest on Tuesday, Feb. 20.
UNCG was tabbed to finish sixth in the 2024 SoCon Preseason Coaches’ Poll.
Rob Ready was named to the Preseason All-SoCon second team.
The Spartans finished the 2023 season with a 25-34 overall record and 9-12 in SoCon play to earn the sixth spot in the SoCon Preseason Coaches’ Poll. UNCG concluded the season in the semifinal round of the SoCon Tournament, falling to No. 1 Samford, 9-5.
The Spartans welcome 22 newcomers for the 2024 season: 10 transfers and 12 freshmen.

SCOUTING THE WOLFPACK
No. 13 N.C. State heads into Tuesday’s matchup with a 12-2 overall record on a nine-game winning streak.
The Wolfpack most recently claimed a series sweep over Boston College in Raleigh, N.C. this past weekend.
The contest between the Spartans and Wolfpack will be the first Tuesday game for N.C. State this season. The Wolfpack did play a Wednesday game in a 17-2 dominating home win over Queens Feb. 28.
NC State is ranked in the top 20-natioanlly in four categories: batting average (.337), on base percentage (.451), scoring (10.1), and home runs per game (2.00).
Alec Makarewicz stands out at fourth nationally with 24 RBI and is second nationally with his 2.18 RBI per game average.
Caleb Cozart’s brother, Jacob Cozart is currently 11th nationally with a 1.64 runs per game average.
N.C. State was picked to finish third in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) 2024 Preseason Poll.
SERIES HISTORY VS THE WOLFPACK
The Wolfpack leads in the overall series against the Spartans at 33-9. The two teams met twice last season, once in Raleigh and once in Greensboro. N.C. State claimed both contests. UNCG last defeated N.C. State on Feb. 23, 2021, 16-13 in Raleigh.
