UNCG Softball to Conclude Regular Season Slate at Wofford
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) softball team will conclude its regular season slate with a three-game series this weekend against The Southern Conference (SoCon) foe Wofford this Friday and Saturday at Hope Field in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
The Spartans are currently 30-22 overall and 12-6 in the SoCon while the Terriers are 20-21 overall and 9-9 in the conference.
UNCG is currently standing in second place, behind Chattanooga who is 13-5 in the conference. With one series left in the regular season for all SoCon teams, UNCG can finish as high as first place or as low as fifth place. With one Moc loss and a Spartan sweep, both could be co-champions. Mercer and Samford are playing each other this weekend and are currently tied for third. As long as neither team sweeps the series, they would stay out of the first-place tie breaker.
With two Chattanooga losses and a Spartan sweep, UNCG would claim the regular season title outright and earn the top seed into the 2024 SoCon Tournament.
