Greensboro Grasshoppers Saturday Night Baseball Report brought to us by Mike Causey for North Carolina Insurance Commissioner: Excellent Effort by pitcher Dominic Perachi spoiled when Hoppers give up 8 late, and fall 8-6 to the JS BlueClaws

Greensboro Grasshoppers Saturday Night Baseball Report…
brought to us by Mike Causey for North Carolina Insurance Commissioner…..

Final Score from Saturday night at First National Bank Field:
Jersey Shore BlueClaws 8, Greensboro Grasshoppers 6
WP:Andrew Walling(4-0)
LP:Darvin Garcia(1-2)
SV:Daniel Harper(5)

BlueClaws' Line-8-10-0
Hoppers' Line- 6-10-1

Greensboro Grasshoppers(31-24)
Jersey Shore BlueClaws(31-25)

Jersey Shore sent 9 batters to the plate in the top of the eighth inning and scored 4 runs, then the Claws came back and sent 9 more men to the plate, in the top of the ninth inning, where the Claws scored 4 more runs, and with 8 late, Jersey Shores back to topple the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 8-6, on Saturday night at First National Bank Field…

Seems like it should have been a different fate for the Hoppers starting pitcher, Dominic Perachi…Perachi was the Grasshoppers starter and he worked a very strong 5 Innings, allowing 0 Runs, on 1 hit, with 2 BBs/6 Ks…He left out of the game after finishing his work in the top of the fifth inning, and as Dominic Perachi exited the contest, he left out with the Hoppers leading 4-0…

The Grasshoppers led late in the game 5-0(end of 7 Innings), and then they gave up four runs in the top of the eighth inning, but still the Hoppers posted another solo run, in the bottom of the eighth frame, and that run gave the Grasshoppers a 6-4 lead…Solo HRs from Joshua Palacios and Luke Brown late, but in the top of the ninth inning, the Jersey Shore BlueClaws sent nine more batters to the plate, and they produced four key runs, that made JS 8-6 leaders, and then 8-6 Winners…

The Hoppers had the 5-0 lead, and then the home team still was in line to pick up the win, as they took a 6-4 lead to the top of the ninth inning, and just get three outs, and get out of here with a WIN…But not tonight, so the Greensboro Grasshoppers still lead Jersey Shore by a Half-Game(SAL Standings), and things are getting tight, in downtown Greensboro, at First National Bank Field…Final game of the Hoppers-BlueClaws six-game series on Sunday afternoon, at 2pm, at FNB Field…

Four runs in the eighth inning, and then four more runs in the ninth inning, and the Jersey Shore BlueClaws are in business…Eighteen(18) batters to the plate for Jersey Shore in the last two innings of the game, and JS was looking for more…

The Greensboro Grasshoppers got five Home Runs in this game, with Josiah Slightler hitting 2 HRs, plus it was solo homers from Termarr Johnson, Joshua Palacios, and Luke Brown…Ten hits in the game for the Hoppers and five of those ten hits, were home runs…Really shame the Hoppers could not put it away and win this game, and they sure did spoil a fine effort from Greensboro’s starting pitcher, Dominic Perachi…

Hopper hitters on the night:Termarr Johnson 2-4/HR/BB/Run…Joshua Palacios 1-4/HR…Charles McAdoo 1-3/HBP/IBB/SB…Mitch Jebb 2-4/BB/Run…Josiah Sightler 2-5/2 HRs…Luke Brown 1-4/HR…Shawn Ross 1-2/BB/HBP…Five of the Six Hopper runs came on the five Greensboro home runs, and the sixth Grasshoppers tally, was from the result of one of those five Hoppers Homers….

BlueClaws at the plate:Justin Crawford 2-4/Double/BB/2 Runs/2 RBI…Otto Kemp 2-4/BB/Run/RBI…Leandro Pineda 1-5/RBI…Hendry Mendez 0-2/3 BBs…Andrick Nava 2-4/BB/2 RBI…William Bergolla 1-3/HR/BB/2 Runs…Erick Brito 1-3/BB/Run…Troy Schreffler 1-3/Double/2 Runs….

The starting pitcher for Jersey Shore, Eiberson Castellano worked 5 2/3’s innings, giving up 4 runs on 6 hits, with 2 BB/8 Ks/plus he served up 3 home runs…93 pitches from Castellano…WP Andrew Walling goes one inning to get the victory, and allows 1 run, on 2 hits, with 1 BB/3 Ks/1 HR and the homer came from Luke Brown…

The Six-Game Series for this week now sees advantage Jersey Shore, 3-2/Three-Games-to-Two over the Greensboro Grasshoppers, and the Hoppers again, now just a Half-Game lead over the BlueClaws in the South Atlantic League Northern Division…
