Sherwood Raiders swim past Friendly Frogs in Week Two of CSA Action

The Sherwood Raiders, defending city meet champions, continued to impress as they lapped the visiting Frogs of Friendly Pool 929 to 729 Tuesday night.  “It was a great team win tonight, I saw everyone was putting in a lot of effort, we swam well” Raiders head coach Sarah Newell explained after the meet. “Since last year, we have really been working hard to improve, it has shown in the first two weeks.”  Coach Newell grew up swimming in duel meets in Greensboro.  “Now as a coach, coming full circle, seeing the improvement in these swimmers, I am so happy for them.”

The short-handed Frogs meanwhile dropped to 1-1 on the early season.  “Sherwood is a very, very good team, congrats to them.  We were missing a number of swimmers tonight, so we knew it was going to be tough.  Really impressed on how much the kids are getting better.  They left it all out there” Friendly Frogs head coach Ed Gomez repeated after the event. Friendly goes on the road again next week to take on Hamilton Lakes while Sherwood stays at home to swim against Green Valley.
