Hot Weather, Close Finishes highlight Week 3 of Greensboro City Swim

Perfect pool weather greeted competitors Tuesday, as the Greensboro Community Swim Summer League reached its halfway point. Other than a few thunder delays the first week of the season, the weather the past two weeks has been hot, and the racing in the pool has been even hotter. Last week we saw the defending two-time City Meet Champion Sherwood Raiders defeat a short-handed Friendly Frogs team to improve to 2-0 on the season. The Raiders were challenged again this week, taking on Green Valley, but were able to paddle their way to a 901-738 win to stay perfect on the season. Also picking up team wins on Tuesday were the Hamilton Lake Hornets, Oak Ridge, Southeast and Cardinal, who all improved to 3-0 and are the five remaining unbeatens in the city. The Bur Mil Blue Marlins picked up their first win of the season by narrowly defeating Lake Jeanette by 16 points. But that was not the closest finish on Tuesday. Starmount was able to turn away a strong challenge by the Greensboro Elks, winning by just two team points.

With just two more duel races before the three-day Greensboro City Meet, personal times are being set and teams are heating up. Below are the results from Week Three:
