Records Breaking Times, Final Team Scores from a fast 2024 City Swim Meet.
After three days of racing action from the Greensboro Aquatic Center, the final team scores from the 2024 Greensboro CSA City Swim Championship have been approved and released. It was a record breaking event, as six swimmers set new City Meet records in five different events.
It was a banner weekend for Luke Masneri of the Bur Mil Swim Team. The 10 year old set three new city championship record times. It started in the Boys 9-10 50-Yard Breaststroke as Luke cruised to a new city record time of 34.68. The Bur Mil swimmer later posted a new record time in the 100-IM, gliding in at 1:08.48 and then helped his relay (composed of fellow Marlins, George Xie, Dou Dou Zhang and Lami-k Adekoya) pull away for a city record 2:12:15 in the 200 Medley Relay.
Other new record holders include Matt Mungas from Oak Ridge Swim Club. He blasted the competition in the 50-Yard breaststroke with a record time of 25.97 in the Boys 15-19 age group. Finally, Albert Smelzer of Sherwood Swim Club set a new meet record in the Boys 15-19 50-Yard Freestyle, blazing down and back in 20.01 seconds.
We already knew that Sherwood Swim Club took home their third consecutive City Championship on Monday, but what we didn’t know was by how much. We also knew that Hamilton Lakes picked some hardware as their swim club won the Open Championship. Here is a list of the Final Team Scores from the 2024 CSA Championship:
