Looking at High School Football Scrimmages coming up for this 2024 Preseason:*****UPDATES*****(Now results and news on Scrimmages)

**********UPDATES…..**********
++++++++++A few results show East Forsyth QB Bryce Baker had a very good day back on Monday…Grimsley RB Mitchell Summers took off on long TD run up the middle early in the scrimmage, but a lot was said about how strong the East Forsyth quarterback looked on Monday in that Grimsley at East Forsyth scrimmage…Grimsley receivers still looking to find their solid footing out there, but the Grimsley defense was really tested by EF, and EF had success, but the Grimsley defense settled down and had a good overall scrimmage…Again strong reviews coming in for EF QB Baker, and Grimsley QB Faizon Brandon looking for all of his receivers to start stepping up big for him…Overall, the edge went to East Forsyth in this one….

Don’t have a lot of the overall details, but hearing Page had success vs. Eastern Alamance on Monday….Hearing several of the new Page players coming in from the Mendenhall Middle School could end up contributing to the varsity team this season, and one kid, Jesse, was playing beyond his 9th grade years on Monday in the EA Eagles-Page Pirates scrimmage at Page HS…Page has some good runners, and the QB spot is starting to take shape with the senior Nigel Hinson, still having the edge…Overall edge in this scrimmage to Page…

Both above scrimmages from Monday, and from Tuesday morning at Mallard Creek, the Dudley Panthers football machine was running on full cylinders, this morning at “The Creek”…The Dudley running backs were extremely tough, and they scored at least two TDs and at the RB spot, Dudley was running three-deep on Tuesday…Dudley was rotating their top two QBs, with Braden Jeffries and Jaquez Crawford seeing pretty much equal time in the snaps department…Dudley relying on the sure thing with the RBs all running down hill at Mallard Creek, and the receivers are adjusting to the new QBs, with Newkirk, Neely, Blackwell, Bartley, and Lee all getting to know Crawford and Jeffries on a familiar basis….The Dudley offensive and defensive lines were primed up, and they are ready to roll, all looking real good in that area….On the Dudley Defense, the Panthers’ LBs had at least two picks/interceptions, and with the line, the LBs, and the DBs all ready to go, it is now “Go Time” for the Dudley Panthers, and they are primed and ready, and hoping to repeat all the good things they did in 2023, and make it overall, even better in 2014…Mallard Creek is Mallard Creek, always strong, and strong again in 2024…Numbers are outstanding with around 140 players in the Mallard Creek Mavericks camp…I talked to Coach Chuck Doak today, over at High Point Central, and he said they have 27 players out for practice, and that the Bison are hoping to get to 30 players by the first game of the season, and here Mallard Creek is bordering on 150 players out for high school football….Back on Mallard Creek, heard the Mavericks’ running backs were looking very impressive on Tuesday morning, and this should be a positive season for the MC running game….Edge on Tuesday, at Mallard Creek, goes to the Dudley Panthers…
(Was able to get a full, more detailed report, on Dudley at Mallard Creek, and thanks to all of our reporters today.)
++++++++++
More ++++++++++Was also hearing that the Northeast Guilford Rams showed well, back on Saturday at the Rolesville Kickoff Classic, down near Raleigh…Word up was the NEG Rams held their own with the teams in this scrimmage and that the Rams offense was showing signs of being ready to take off this season…The Tate kid, Ashton Timberlake, and few other Rams, will need to get their hands on the pigskin as many time as possible each game…Need more and more touches for Tate, Timberlake and the other Rammers on offense…They need numerous touches to get themselves jump-started…NEG started well, and finished well…Edge on Saturday goes to the Northeast Guilford Rams, and they were getting a CHECK-PLUS for all of their improvement…

  1. Someone told me West Forsyth-Northern is actually tonight (Saturday) at Northern. Might want to check that one.

  2. West Forsyth and Northern did scrimmage Saturday night, so you might want to update this schedule accordingly.
