He was one of the top athletes to ever come out of our local Page High School…He as All-State in baseball, and arguably the best all-around baseball player to ever come out Page HS…He was the MVP of the Little Four Basketball Tournament back in the day, he played in the NCHSAA East-West All-Stars Basketball game, he was drafted out of Louisburg Junior College by the Toronto Blue Jays, in the second round of the MLB Draft…
Lindsey “BooCat” Foster was a shortstop who had few peers…I saw him playing Palomino Baseball back in the 1980’s and he was like a Hoover Vacuum Cleaner out there on the left side of the infield…He was one of the best ever to roll through the Gate City…
“BooCat” Foster had the name and he had the game, and along with the Blue Jays he also spent time with the Chicago White Sox in his professional baseball playing days, and he made it as high as the Triple A level, on the MLB circuit….
He was ‘The Man’, and to many he still is ‘The Man’, and his is a name that will never be forgotten in this town….His Little League coaches used to say that they had never ever seen another kid like “BooCat” coming up and growing up, as youth league baseball player in this city…
He had a brother, Michael Foster, who came out of Walter Hines Page High School, and Michael went on to become the starting point guard for the South Carolina Gamecocks…He had another brother, Chris Foster, who was also a very good athlete…If my memory numbers are correct, Michael was the oldest Foster brother, then came “BooCat”, and Chris was the youngest…
But there was always something special about “BooCat”….He was one of a kind, he was “The Chosen One”…In talking to his old college roommate this morning, Coach Randy Norris, you could just hear the hurt in Coach Norris voice…Coach Norris, William Hardin, Scott Davis, and Lindsey “BooCat” Foster, they are all products of that highly successful Louisburg Junior College baseball program, from back in the day…
Back in the day, he was ready to play, and every day was a Real Good Day, for “BooCat” Foster….
He will be missed, and he is being missed already here today, on Tuesday September 3, 2O24…
RIP:Lindsey “BooCat” Foster…..

Hey there! I wanted to share a GoFundMe for Lindsay Boo Cat Foster’s memorial expenses. Every donation, no matter the size, will help the family during this difficult time and honor Boo Cat’s memory. If you could take a moment to donate or share the link, it would mean a lot to everyone who cared about him.
