Hoppers' Line- 5-6-2 Hot Rods' Line-4-7-0
Greensboro Grasshoppers(72-55)
Bowling Green Hot Rods(75-51)
Hoppers went up 1-0, when Luke Brown scored on Wild Pitch in the Bottom of the Third Inning…Hoppers go up 2-0 on an RBI from Shawn Ross scoring Mitch Jebb, who reached on a bunt in the Bottom of the Sixth Inning….Hot Rods come back in the 7th inning, to make it 2-1 GSO, then the Rods get a two-run Home Run from Noah Myers to move on top 3-2, in the Top of the Eighth Inning…So Bowling Green has battled back to lead the Greensboro Grasshoppers 3-2, as we hit the Bottom of the Eighth Inning…
The here come the Hoppers…Hoppers’ second baseman Mitch Jebb gets lays down a ground ball Double to left field, and he scores when Hudson Head comes up with a cluth RBI single on a fly ball to the right corner, and Head scores Jebb…Game tied now at 3-3, and Husdon Head was 0-10 for this week, before he got that key Clutch Hit Single that got the Hoppers back in this game…
Next up after Hudson Head was P.J. Hilson, and Hilson cleaned house with his lined Home Run to left field, and the two-run shot from Hilson pushed the Hoppers back in front to stay, at 5-3…..Jebb, Head, and Hilson rockin’ the Hoppers World in that game-winning 8th inning….
A solo run in the Top of the Ninth Inning from the Hot Rods, did not change the final outcome of this contest…Hoppers win it 5-4, and every game this week with the Hoppers and Hot Rods, has been decided by one run…Rods win 5-4 on Tuesday, Hoppers take it 2-1 on Wednesday, and Hoppers make it two straight, with their 5-4 victory on Thursday night…Jebb, Head, and Hilson really got the fire burning in the Bottom of that Eighth Inning…Especially Hudson Head…Head was soooooo Due…He got that clutch hit, he drove in the game-tying run, and he flat-out got the job done…Nice to see this young battle back, and get that KEY/Clutch hit…
Hopper Hitters for the night:Mitch Jebb 2-4/Double/2 Runs/Stolen Base #42 on the season…Hudson Head 1-4/Run/RBI/SB…Head with the Game-Tying RBI…P.J. Hilson 1-4/HR/Run/2 RBI…Hilson with the Game-Winning RBI…Shawn Ross 1-4/RBI…Lonnie White Jr. 1-3/SB…Luke Brown 0-2/BB/Run…Javier Rivas 0-2/HBP…Kalae Harrison 0-2/SAC Bunt…
It was 9 strikeouts for the Hot Rods starting pitcher, Jackson Baumeister, while the Hoppers staff struck out 12 Hot Rods, and the Hot Rods only walked one Hopper batter(Luke Brown) and that led to a Hoppers run…Fourteeen Hoppers struck out vs. the Hot Rod pitching…14 Ks and 1 BB by Hot Rod Pitching and 12 Ks/5 BBs, from the Hopper pitchers…
Bowling Green catcher Tatem Levins was hit twice in the game by Hoppers’ pitchers…The first time on a pitch by the Hoppers’ Julian Bosnic, and the second time Levins got plunked in the helmet by Magdiel Cotto, the eventual Hops’ Winning Pitcher…Levins went down hard, but later he was clear and aware, but had the makings of a Big Shiner, for his efforts…
