Upset Alert: Glenn takes down #13 Chambers
Thanks to a strong final 13 minutes, the Glenn Bobcats defeated #13 Chambers 31-13 to improve to 2-1 on the season.
The Bobcats scored with less than a minute left in the third quarter to re-take the lead 18 to 13. On the very first play of the fourth quarter, Cougars wide receiver Jerimiah Harrison fumbled the ball and the Bobcats were in business at the Chambers 29 yard line.
A few plays later, Glenn quarterback Brady Robinson connected with Jeremiah Torian from 15 yards out to give Glenn a 24-13 advantage with 9:33 to play. For Robinson it was his third touchdown throw of the game and second to Torian, who caught a 84 yarder back in the first quarter.
After Chambers failed to convert on fourth down, running back Joel Hayes dashed in from 19 yards out to seal the upset.
For new coach Tommy Green the program has now recorded three consecutive games of getting multiple turnovers. Chambers drops to 0-2.
The Cougar’s, a playoff team a year ago, was held to just 211 total yards, turned the ball over four times, and failed to convert on three different 4th down conversions.
For Glenn, tail back Joel Hays now has total 7 touchdowns on the season and the secondary has 5 interceptions.
