Friday Football Finish with Dudley and Grimsley claiming Conference Crowns and others keeping Playoff Hopes Alive

Dudley topped Eastern Guilford, 21-2, and it was Grimsley winning, 42-14, over the Northern Guilford Nighthawks…

The Dudley Panthers(10-0) your Mid-State 3-A Conference Champions, and the Grimsley Whirlies(10-0), your Metro 4-A Conference Champions…We had the Dudley-EG game for you, and we apologize for those who tuned in to hear the Grimsley-NG game on GreensboroSports Radio…

We could not bring that game from Jamieson Stadium, due to the fact our announcer, Demetri Morrison got sick Friday afternoon prior to the game…He had to miss the game due to illness, and that left us with no way to bring you that game, and we will give another shot, next time around..Pretty much, that’s all you can do…Go for it again, next time around…

But man, oh man oh…There were some real interesting games for the Friday Night Football Finish…Grimsley did take care of business vs. Northern Guilford, and we saw on the highlights where our Football in Focus guest from back on Thursday night, at the Tee It Up Indoors golf center, and that would be the Whirlies’ DJ Howerton, Howerton caught a pass from Grimsley’s QB Faizon Brandon, and Howerton/David Junior, took it to the house…DJ got the GreensboroSports.com rub, and he rode it to instant success…YES, good job David Junior…Mitchell Summers was racking up at least two touchdowns, and he now has over 100 TDs for his career…

Grimsley looking good, as the GMen take care of their business…

Dudley took care of business too, but the Panthers scored all 21 of their points in the first half, enroute to Dudley’s 21-2 victory over the Eastern Guilford Wildcats…This was a game of Defensive Wills, there at Dudley’s Tarpley Stadium…The Dudley Defense led by Adae Motley, Jalile Elliot, Robert McCollum, Andrew Rogers, Jordyn Ratliff and others up front, the Dudley “D” was stone-wall tough in this game…There were giving EG much more than an inch…Dudley got a pick from DB LJ Southern….

Nearly equally impressive on Friday night, was the Eastern Guilford defense…Junior Solomon, Samari Smith, Xavier Wilson, Daz Daughtry and other ‘Cats were clawing to keep Dudley from taking off and running away with this game…And for the most part, the EG “D” really did their job…Eastern Guilford made Dudley work for what they got, and Eastern didn’t give Dudley a lot, especially in the second of play…Eastern intercepted Four(4) Dudley passes, with DJ Parker, Steven Murray, Shawn Morris, and Jerome Teague all getting picks for the ‘Cats…

Dudley had averaging around 46 points a game coming into this game with Eastern Guilford, and for the ‘Cats to hold Dudley to half of that 46(21 points), and for there to be no running clock in the second half, that proves to be a very strong effort turned in by the EG Wildcats…

Maybe the Player of the Game for the EG Wildcats, was Junior Solomon…He kept on pushing Dudley back deep with his punts, and as the saying goes, Solomon in his great wisdom, was flipping the field for Eastern all night long, and making Dudley go the distance, he had the Panthers going for it the long way, all night long…

We had CJ Neely as our Player of the Game from the Dudley Panthers….He takes home the REMAX Revolution Recap Player of the Game honors…The REMAX Revolution Play of the Game goes to Dudley’s LJ Southern, and he made a touchdown-saving pick/interception for Dudley, that stopped a very solid late-game drive by Eastern Guilford….Southern is on the Dudley offense, as a running back, but he may just be a better DB than he is RB…Let the colleges know, this kid can go….

LJ Southern, CJ Neely, and Junior Solomon, just a few key names from the Mid-State 3-A Championship Game on Friday night, from Dudley’s Tarpley Stadium…

Game Scoring went sort of like this….
First Quarter with 6:37 remaining…Dudley gets on the board with a two-yard Touchdown Run from Kordell Bartley…PAT Kick by Andre Cummings was Good….Dudley 7, Eastern Guilford 0…
End of First Quarter:Dudley 7, Eastern Guilford 0

Second Quarter with 11:36 remaining…CJ Neely hauls in a 48-yard TD pass from Brayden Jeffries and the Two-Point Conversion Run fails…Dudley 13, Eastern Guilford 0
Second Quarter with 1:09 remaining…CJ Neely catches a 1-yard TD pass from Jaquez Crawford and Crawford carries the football into the End Zone for the Two-Point Conversion Run…TD and two-point run, and it is Dudley 21, Eastern Guilford 0
Halftime:Dudley 21, Eastern Guilford 0

End of the Third Quarter:Dudley 21, Eastern Guilford 0

Fourth Quarter with 1:11 left in the ballgame, Eastern Guilford scores a safety when they tackle the Dudley back in the end zone…Dudley 21, Eastern Guilford 2
