Bryant Roche first up today/tonight at 6:15 and we will hit the high school football playoff scene hard, and try and knock a few out of the yard, and in the end, see how it shows up on our scorecard…
Have to get into last week’s First Round Playoff games and talk with Mr. Roche, about how the Metro 4-A, still has four(4) teams ready to play, for another day/night…WOW, with Grimsley, Northern Guilford, Northwest Guilford, and Southeast Guilford still all going strong, and how long can they continue to play the Victory Song???
Got to get into the Southeast Guilford Falcons huge OT win from last Friday night at WS Reagan, and how the Falcons will feel, coming over to face the Grimsley Whirlies at Jamieson Stadium tomorrow night/Friday night….Faizon Brandon with big-time numbers in Grimsley’s win over Western Guilford last week, and he put up all those big numbers in just one half of play…SEG at Grimsley, and how will that one go??? We want to know, and we’ll have Bryant go into that scenario…SEG, wants to be more than just a one-hit wonder, and Grimsley wants to protect their home turf and number one seed…Lots on the line tomorrow night….And SEG coach Earl Bates has worked wonders over the years in the playoffs, with his teams at Morehead, Southern Guilford, and Northeast Guilford, now also Southeast Guilford all coming up with upsets on the road in the playoffs over the years…
So let’s see what Bryant says about Marvin Ridge at Northern Guilford, with Kevin Willoughby taking over at QB last week for the NG Nighthawks and he gave a very good account of himself, as he led his team to the win…Willoughby with over 150 yards passing and two TD tosses for NG in their victory over West Cabarrus…So this week NG faces a (5-6) Marvin Ridge team, coming in as a #24 seed…Can’t take them lightly, especially since NG only survived 21-20 last week…Northern running game, got to running strong this week, because now the Word on Willoughby is out…
One more Metro 4-A foe on the go, and don’t you know, this Northwest Guilford Viking team has to go to Mooresville of all places…Was up that way in Mooresville for the playoffs myself, back around 2001, and that town turns out to support their Mooresville HS Blue Devils…Going to be tough to win up there, but the NWG running game can get it done…Nathan Cox the strongest NWG runner last week with 122 yards on the ground, and if it were me and I was with NWG, I would pound and ground that hound/dog again…NWG also giving WR Rakem Hammock about 6 carries last week, and I would let that kid run around again this week too, he has the speed….Bring on, and mix in Easton Dean, and hopefully a healthy McKinnly Vance, and those runners might just get you to the next round of the Big Dance…Run it until they stop you NWG, and then run it some more…Bryant Roche will have his say, about if he thinks NG and NWG will play the day after today/Friday….
Now how about them Panthers??? Dudley Panthers home again, and we will ask Bryant Roche, “With Dudley being Home Again, does that mean they will Win Again?”….Dudley vs. AC Reynolds from Asheville and Asheville Reynolds came to Greensboro and beat Dudley on Thanksgiving Weekend back around 2009, and with that game on the line, Asheville went back up the hill toward home, with the game in hand, and the band in the van…Now will Asheville mess things up again??? Got to think Dudley is primed and right to be at the site(Tarpley Stadium) and ready to lay down the “Panther Time” on Friday night, but what does Roche say, about how he thinks Dudley will play???
That’s it for the very locals, but there is a big matchup going on over in Kernersville too….West Forsyth at East Forsyth, and about three weeks ago when they met to close out the regular season, it was a one-touchdown game with East coming out on top….How about Round Two, and who will do what few can stew, and make this a true Championship of K’Viller Thriller….We will ask for the verdict tonight….
Then we move on to our Southeast Guilford Falcon football players, and we will get the chance to talk to, Ian McKinnon, Micah Martin, Adrian Gaylord, and Alexander Marsh…We have some questions ready for the Falcons, and we will get into that Q and A session around 6:40pm tonight there at the Tee It Up Indoors indoor Golf Center on Battleground Avenue…2310 Battleground Avenue for the home of Davis Troxler and his golf team of teachers and pros…
