Guilford Men’s and Women’s Basketball Moves Contests Back to Saturday

from Bryce Johnson, Director of Athletic Communications

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Keeping up with the latest forecasts, and in response to the newest projections, the Guilford College men’s and women’s basketball teams have returned their “home-and-home” series opposite Eastern Mennonite University back to the originally scheduled date of Saturday, the departments announced on Thursday afternoon.

The nationally receiving votes Quakers men’s team sees their clash with their Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) rival, EMU, returned to the originally scheduled date and time of Saturday, January 11th at 3:00 PM at Jack Jensen Court inside the Ragan-Brown FieldHouse. As for the Guilford women’s team, their contest will also be returned to Saturday afternoon on the campus of Eastern Mennonite, albeit with tipoff bumped back an hour to 3:00 PM on Saturday as well.

The return to original date of competition was made in the safety and best interests of all involved as more up-to-date information and forecasts saw that the incoming winter storm that is hitting the region will impact the area earlier than originally predicted. As a result, the department hopes for better road conditions for all participants, workers, and fans on Saturday. Once more, Guilford Athletics would like to emphasize the interest of safety as the games approach, and wish all attendees safe travels.
