The word is all over social media and Coach Antonio Hall is going home to his old high school, Northeast Guilford…The former Rams football player for Coach Tommy Pursley, will now lead the NEG Rams football program as the Rams head coach….

Coach Hall told me last Summer at the Sheetz Convenience Store on Battleground Avenue on a Sunday afternoon, that 2024 would be his last season at Dudley High School, and that he was going to pursue a head coaching job in 2025…I asked what the chances were that he might get back to his old school, Northeast Guilford High School….He told me that day, “You never know”….

So you never know, but we do know this, Antonio Hall is the new head football coach at Northeast Guilford High School..We have to wait and see what all happens next….Lots of offensive credentials for Coach Hall, and I am sure lots of kids will want to come out and play for him at NEG, as most really like that offensive he employs….NEG set to be in the same conference with Southern Guilford, Asheboro, Eastern Guilford, Northern Guilford, and Southeast Guilford…NEG and SG will be 5A schools and the other schools will be 6A schools…

Coach Hall was a member of the Northeast Guilford football team coached by Tommy Pursley, that played for the State 3-A Title vs. the South Point(Belmont) Red Raiders, back in 2003…South Point won that game, and NEG was led by RBs Matt Deese and Nathan Cockman, as they battled the Red Raiders on that Saturday afternoon in Raleigh, N.C. Coach Hall was a running back on that NEG Rams squad back in 2003, and later played college ball at Catawba…

On the Dudley team in 2024, Dudley had two 1,000 yard running backs in LJ Southern and Jayden Brown, three 1,000 yard receivers in Nasir Newkirk, CJ Neely, and Kordell Bartley…In 2023, Dudley QB Andrew Attmore II threw for over 4,000 yards, and 40-plus TDs and set the single-season passing records for Guilford County…

Coach Hall is a players coach, and he will now get the chance to run the entire football show for the Northeast Guilford Rams…..

  1. Goooo Rams! C/O 97

Dudley made a HUGE mistake not making him their next head coach for the future but I’m glad my Rams got him. Kids absolutely LOVE playing for him and this will shake things up in the area. Extremely happy for Hall and excited for my Rams!!

  2. Good hire and we expect to see that wide open offense with a spread passing game. Should be very entertaining.

  3. As a former student athlete and coach at NEG, I think Coach Hall is a great choice. The NEG administration needs to help him hire good assistants and get out of his way. Congratulations Coach Hall

  4. I played with Coach Hall and I seen his progression over the years. I am genuinely happy for my guy and I hope to get in town for a couple games this season!
