The Spartans, who are now 4-3, dropped the series with the loss. UNCG prevailed in the first game of the series back on Saturday, 6-2, before falling in game two, 6-2, on Sunday.

The Hokies tacked on four more runs between the fourth and sixth frames to gain an 8-2 advantage. It began with Davis roping a single to left that scored Cherry in the fourth. McCann then homered and Michel hit an RBI single to center to make it 7-2 in the fifth. Davis singled through the left side in the sixth to score Clay Grady, which capped the scoring for the Hokies at 8-2.
