Hernandez Concludes Puerto Rico Open with Even-Par

RIO GRANDE, PUERTO RICO – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men’s golf sophomore Kelvin Hernandez concluded the 2025 Puerto Rico Open on Friday after finishing in a tie for 111th place at the Grand Reserve Golf Club in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.

Hernandez carded back-to-back even-par rounds (72) in the tournament on Thursday and Friday. To qualify for the third and fourth rounds of the event you must finish in the top 60 after two rounds.

Across the two rounds, Hernandez posted seven birdies and 24 total pars. His 24 pars allowed him to finish in a tie for 42nd place for total pars in the field.

Ramsus Neergaard-Petersen representing Denmark finished the two rounds in first place with a 15-under-par (129).

Hernandez and the UNCG men’s golf team will head to Sea Island, Georgia, to take on the Sea Palms Invitational from March 13-15 at Sea Palms Resort, hosted by Western Carolina.
