Esmerlyn Valdez with a Solo Home Run, and Jesus Castillo with a Two-Run HR for the Hoppers…The Greensboro Grasshoppers with just five hits, and three of the Hoppers Wednesday hits, were Extra Base hits…The two HRs, coming off of the bats of Valdez and Castillo, plus Lonnie White Jr. came up with a Double for Greensboro…Tuesday night, the Hoppers could only come up with 3 hits…Just 8 base-knocks in the past two games for the Grasshoppers…Fourteen hits in the Wednesday day game for the WS Dash….Jeral Perez with two Dash Long Gone Home Runs, with one of the Perez pops a Two-Run blast, and his other homer for a solo shot…Now 7 HRs on the season for Perez and he may have some of that Tony Perez in him, who knows…Perez overall was 2-5/2 HRs/2 Runs/3 RBI…Leading Dash hitter was Braden Montgomery, who went 3-5/Double/RBI…The Hoppers had that total of five hits, scattered among five different players…Hoppers starting pitcher Curtis, went 3 2/3’s Innings, giving up 5 runs, on 10 hits, with 0 BBs/4 Ks/and gave up one of the Jeral Perez home runs…Jake Peppers entered the game at the right moment for the WS Dash, as he followed the Dash starter, Tommy Vail, and Vail threw well, just allowing 1 Hopper run, on 1 Hopper hit, and that hit was the Solo HR by Valdez in the bottom of the fourth inning…So Vail gave way for Peppers who proceeded to give up 0 Runs, on 2 hits, with 0 BBs/1 K…Right place, at the right time for Peppers, to pick up the WIN…Hoppers got to get MORE hits, and they need to get going and score some early runs to help carry them back to the Victory Column…
