HIGH POINT, NC – The fifth annual HiToms Triad Kick-Off Classic is set for Wednesday, August 13th and Friday, August 15th at the High Point Athletic Complex’s A.J. Simeon Stadium.
Featuring 14 Triad area high schools, the event begins Wednesday August 13th with two exciting matchups between Bishop McGuiness and Southwest Randolph alongside High Point Christian Academy and Wheatmore. The expanded skills challenge follows featuring three events: Quarterback Throwing Skills Challenge, Field Goal Kicking Contest, and a Punter’s Challenge. Following the skills challenge, the HKC has two more contests at 8:15 when Randleman takes on Ragsdale and Jordan Matthews faces off against Thomasville. Throughout the entire Day 1 schedule, the HKC will also spotlight junior varsity squads next door at the High Point Athletic Complex.
Day two of the HiToms Kick-Off Classic features 10 schools descending upon Simeon Stadium action starting at 6:00 pm. Featuring a full-field battle between High Point Central and Wheatmore at 6:00 p.m. the HKC continues at 7:00 with High Point Christian Academy taking on Providence Grove and Ledford squaring off with Thomasville. And finally, at 8:00 p.m., Andrews will face Southwest Guilford and East Davidson will face off against Jordan Matthews. Day two’s HKC will also feature a junior varsity event next door at the High Point Athletic Complex.
“We’ve got a great line-up of games scheduled and it’s punctuated by an expansion of our skills challenge to include linemen,” HiToms President Greg Suire said. “Unifying the prep football community by providing an exciting, single-site competition continues to expand playing opportunities for our student-athletes and broaden the Triad’s football brand.
