High School Football Friday Night Finish with not many games, but No Lack of Drama

That Page at Dudley game was Total Drama…There was a Weather Delay before the game even got started…Pushed us back around 30 minutes on our Start Time…Then you had back-and-forth scoring throughout the contest with plenty of lead changes…There was drama with the 2025 Dudley Homecoming Parade coming through the campus about an hour before the game was to supposed to Kick Off…There was all kinds of chirping going amongst the players while they were on the field warming up for the game…They came on the field, they were told to get back off the field, and go somewhere and wait till we let you when this game can get going….Some of the fans were probably thinking the same thing, as they saw the players come on the playing surface get started with warmups and then they went back to the fieldhouse, so the players hung out for awhile, they checked on their homework scores, and then they got down to business…

A bundle of injuries in the Page-Dudley game too, and we had one real serious injury, and that one required for the EMTs come in and cart the player off…Not a pretty sight, but we are hoping that the Page kid can be up and rolling/playing again real soon…We sure played the Murphy Wanier Orthopedic Specialists commercials many time over the course of this special Homecoming Night, at James B. Dudley High School….There were more injured Page players going down, than there Dudley players….Turned out to be a fun, but highly physical contest….The crowd was really into this ballgame……

Here is a breakdown on how the scoring went in Friday Night’s hotly contested high school football game, from James B. Dudley High School’s Tarpley Stadium….
5:57 left in the First Quarter, it was Dudley’s Robert McCollum scoring a 1-yard run…Two-Point try was No Good, and the score is, Dudley 6, Page 0
3:05 left to play in the First Quarter and Page gets a TD from RB Ja’mere Sesley and the PAT Kick from Graham Hernandez was GOOD…Page over Dudley, 7-6….
End of First Quarter:Page 7, Dudley 6
7:31 to go in the First Half and Dudley gets a Touchdown from Vermont Carmack, as Carmack hauls in a 5-yard TD pass from Brayden Jeffries…Brayden Jeffries going hard for the WR Vermont…Vermont in position to make plays, and Dudley getting ready to lift the curtain…And it was Jeffries to Vermont, on the Murphy Wainer Orthopedic Specialists Game of the Week, coming in from our Guilford County Schools…BTW, Carmack also made the catch for the Two-Point Conversion with the pass coming from Jeffries…
Dudley 14, Page 7
0:29 Seconds left to play in the First Half, Page ties this game up at 14-14…Chris Armstrong hauls in a 30 pass from Page QB Zamari Williamson, and the Graham Hernandez Kick is Good…Page and Dudley tied at 14-14 as we head to the Halftime Break from Farm Bureau Insurance and their local agent, Dale Moser…
Halftime Score:Page 14, Dudley 14
Page regains the lead on a 17-yard FG from Graham Hernandez with 10:36 left in the Fourth Quarter…
End of Third Quarter:Page 17, Dudley 14
Page 17, Dudley 14
Fourth Quarter and late in the period, Dudley gets a 4-yard TD run from their senior QB Brayden Jeffries, the PAT Kick from Andre Cummings was Good…Dudley 21, Page 17
Final Score:Dudley 21, Page 17
(The last time Page beat/defeated Dudley was in 2016)…That season, Page went on to play for the 4-AA Title, and Dudley went for and won, the State 4-A Championship/Title.)

Dudley now at (3-3) overall and (2-0) in the Conference…Page at (3-2) and the Pirates are at (1-1) in the conference…Our scores over the past three Friday Nights have been Dudley over NEG, 21-19…Northern Guilford over Oak Grove, 26-21….And then Tonight it was Dudley 21, Page 17….

Here are the scores from Don Moore with our Murphy Wainer Orthopedic Specialists High School Football Scoreboard….

  1. page is silly with the qb situation. Let the sophomore Williamson play. He has the spark. The senior was on jv for a reason last year.
