High School Football Tonight(10/3/2025) for the Guilford County Area
Varina(4-1) from Virginia at Grimsley(5-0) 7pm
Non Conference Game for the Whirlies and they face on of the top teams from the Virginia area…Varina from the Richmond, Virginia area and the Blue Devils have won very big in their wins this season, and in their lone loss, they fell 14-13 to Maury…Grimsley is the #1 ranked team in the state of North Carolina, and Varina is the #6 ranked team in the state of Virginia…Varina QB Kaleb Wyche threw for 246 yards in his opening game of the season, and his top receiver was Darren Williams with 111 yards and a TD in that game, where Wyche tossed 4 TD passes…Grimsley with a host of receivers including Hudson Copper, Khyan Battle, Kaden Catoe, DJ Howerton and Patrick Carter…Top Grimsley runners have been senior Micah Williams and sophomore Ty Shoemake…
Northern Guilford(4-1) at Asheboro(5-0) 7:30pm
Asheboro with one of the best Asheboro Blue Comets starts in years, but their schedule has not been over-powering, whereas, the Northern Guilford Nighthawks have played a beast of a schedule, with their only loss coming to East Forsyth…Quality wins versus teams like Reidsville, WS Reagan, and Oak Grove give NG a much better strength of schedule rating…NG QB Jaxson Kemp is coming off of a string of very solid games…His top target vs. Oak Grove was Greyson Council, and the Kemp to Council Connection was Cooking…They hooked up for 166 yards and 2 TDs on just two plays…C.J. Morrison is another steady receiver for Northern, while Amare Akers has been picking them up and putting them down(hard-running phrase) from his running back spot…Very productive run game led by Sam Bagley and the other 4 NightHog linemen up front…Chance Crews is one of the top linebackers in the state of North Carolina, and he roams the field from sideline-to-sideline as good as any LB out there today…Crews, Samari Smith from Eastern Guilford, and Robert McCollum from Dudley at LB, are as good as it gets…Lucas Hillard has at least 4 Interceptions from his DB role this season…Two picks back in the Oak Grove game for the sophomore…Don’t have much background info on Asheboro, but do know their QB Dallas Brinton has rushed for 519 yards and 8 TDs…RB Connor Brinton with 382 yards and 7 TDs rushing…Top Blue Comet receiver with 77 yards…Primarily a running team, Asheboro Blue Comets…
Smith(2-3) at Dudley(3-3) 7pm
Game will be available for you on GreensboroSports Radio 2, with Demetri Morrison on the call….Dudley getting a good effort on the ground last week from Michael Boone, plus WR Vermont Carmack is the top target for Dudley QB Brayden Jeffries…Dudley Panthers also seeing excellent defensive work from LB McCollum, DE Devin Cotton, and DB Jalen Jones…Smith’s top player is athlete Darius Chukwuemeka, who is mighty dangerous when healthy…Smith rolls with Corey Sperling at QB…Ball control will be Smith’s best friend, but Dudley is looking for the exact same ally…Dudley content with power-running game and it has been paying dividends for the Panthers lately…Again, this game on GreensboroSports Radio 2, with Demetri Morrison…
Southeast Guilford(3-2) at Eastern Guilford(3-2) 7:30pm
Big time conference battle brewing here, with both teams having outstanding running games, and the passing edge goes to Eastern Guilford…EG with the dual-threat QB in Javion Majette, while Eastern has a top-notch RB in Tyler Whaley-Melvin…He can go in both the running and receiving departments…SEG counters with two top RBs in Caleb Jackson and Travis Motley…EG has first class LB Samari Smith, one of the top tackling LBs in the state, while SEG comes hard with Amir Lyles and Caleb Jackson at LB…SEG has probably the top lineman in the game, and one of the tops in the state, in Micah Martin….As you can see and tell in this writeup, this a fairly even matchup, but Majette at QB for EG, could well be the difference-maker…The team that has the ball last may last the longest and gain that Longest Yard, to get the win…Either way, this game has Battle written all over it…You catch this game on GreensboroSports Radio 1, with Coach Randy Norris on the mic, and giving you the breakdown of every play in this major conference meeting from Gibsonville, N.C., at the Tommy Grayson Stadium….
Ragsdale(0-5) at Page(3-2) 7pm
Big edge toward Page in this game, due to fact that Page has too many athletes/weapons, and if all of them are hitting on all cylinders, then Page goes out strong, and comes out on top, early and often in this contest from the Marion Kirby Stadium…Page QBs Zamari Williamson and Anthony Johnson are both very capable, but the hard lean recently has been on Williamson…Receivers Kasai Poindexter and Chris Armstrong are more than a handful, while backs like Sesley, Poole and Jabari Johnson run hard and they are also good blockers….Page has a big and sturdy offensive line, and they have Zion Malloy and Marqui Lynch both playing steady on both sides of the football…Ragsdale can’t seem to find their groove this season and their best game might have been the close loss they suffered at the hands of the High Point Andrews Red Raiders…Sion Stevenson has the controls at QB, but Ragdale needs to channel some of their strong running game from the days gone by…Good bye might become the catch phrase in this game, if Armstrong and Poindexter are able to get their hands on the football…You will see them later on, in the end zone…
Northeast Guilford(4-1) at Southern Guilford(2-3) 7:30pm
Due to the bye week last week, it seems like NEG and SG have been out of action for a couple of months, but the pace thickens again tonight at the C.K. Siler Stadium, down there in the Sumner Community…Great place to be on a crisp Fall night…NEG should have senior QB Jaquez Crawford available again tonight, after he sat out the Southern Durham game, two weeks ago…Zorian Campbell kept the Rams rolling, but the Rams will be glad to get Crawford’s arm back in the fold…Aaryn Tate, Titus Duff II, and Prince Hansford, along with BreVon Canty will all be in prime condition to catch and run with the football for NEG…The NEG Rams would plan on keeping the SG DBs very busy…Southern with RJ Scott as their primary workhorse and he can run it, throw it, catch it, and put air in the ball too…Multi-tasker for the SG Storm, that is RJ Scott…Seth Davis has been progressing as the SG QB, but his pace has to really pick up fast, if Southern wants to be hanging with Northeast Guilford late in this contest…Another one of those major conference matchups, and it all will unfold tonight at the C.K. Siler facility, off of Drake Road…Northeast Guilford on the road for the rest of this season, as the Rams’ Bill Bookout Stadium, is in need of repair, and in reality, a Total Makeover…
Western Guilford(4-2) at Southwest Guilford(1-5) 7pm
If WG RB Timothy Baker is back tonight, the WG Hornets should be ready to run wild…No need to start working on the passing game, when you Baker, Caleb Moore, and CJ Blevins as your three-man running package…No need for anything fancy from Western, just good old basic pound and ground…On the ground, and not profound, but very, very sound…Sounds good….Emanuel Martin has been carrying the load on both sides of the ball for SWG…Steady QB and very effective tackler is Martin…Needs some help, and Wesley Oxce has been providing as much reinforcement for Martin as possible…Oxce also seeing life on both offense and defense for the SWG Cowboys…SWG Middle School team ready to send quality troops to the SWG varsity team, and school leaders looking to make sure they keep all of the potential Cowboys, in The Corral, at The Ranch….WG defense looks to Jeremiah Dotson to dot the I’s and cross the T’s….
Northwest Guilford(1-4) at WS Reagan(4-1) 7pm
NWG has been productive if not really successful putting the ball in the air this season, and the Vikings have a strong arm in Ferrell Price, and one of the top receivers in the state, in Rakem Hammock…But NWG has to get more help, than just what they are getting from those two on offense…NWG back to old power running game could be the solution, but the Vikes have had injuries at RB, and they need some backup support for Easton Dean…Would be nice to see Nathan Cox back there in the backfield again, but he has moved on to North Greenville College…NWG might to line up Rob Lange at fullback and slip Austin Jackson to RB and turn them loose on a slow, but deliberate march down the field…Might seem a bit boring, but it might be the way to get them the “W”…Time to put the “W” back in NWG….Reagan a very talented club, but NWG knows they need to be knocking somebody off soon, and WS Reagan is as soon as it gets…TONIGHT…
High Point Central(0-6) at Ledford(1-5) 7pm
Just hoping hard that Central will get on the scoreboard for the first time this season, TONIGHT…Not sure if the Bison are ready to fulfill the need for the win, but getting a Touchdown, or maybe even two, might light up a future spark for the kids from HPC…
High Point Christian(5-0) at Southlake Christian(2-3) 7pm
RB Jaylin Moore, RB Hez Krider, and QB Amsterdam Knox MORE than enough to get it going and done finished for the HPCA Cougars…

Is Brandon Faison playing tonight?
No, but we’re not sure about Faizon Brandon. Kid’s one of the top HS seniors in the country and people in Greensboro can’t even come close on his name. SMH
I agree Reality Czech it’s amazing how they are throwing now when the #1 player in the country runs more!
Grimsley ran the ball pretty effectively with Hudson Cooper as the Wildcat QB…That has worked for them several times this season…
