Meet the Next-Gen NFL Agent Who’s Changing the Game for Players Everywhere

HOUSTON, Texas,— When most people picture an NFL agent, they imagine sharp suits and high-stakes contract negotiations. Chas Sampson, one of fewer than 1,200 certified NFLPA agents, rejects that stereotype. His approach is rooted in mentorship and a focus on ensuring the athletes he represents are positioned for success both during and after their playing careers.

Before becoming an agent, Sampson dedicated his career to helping military veterans transition back to civilian life. As founder and CEO of Seven Principles Group, he navigated complex government systems to protect veterans’ rights.

Now, he brings that same fire to ensuring athletes are respected, supported and fairly compensated.

A New Kind of Agent for Today’s College Players

Sampson does more than help college athletes negotiate Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) deals. He offers something rare: a values-driven mentoring approach that prioritizes emotional well-being, education, financial literacy and pursuing a purpose-filled life.

Parents take comfort in knowing Sampson is invested in who their child will become, not just what they can earn. As a U.S. Army combat veteran, former college athlete and now father of four, he understands the importance of character, stability and planning ahead.

Sampson advises parents to be selective. “Of course, you’ll want someone who knows how to navigate the NFL rules to get him on a team. But look beyond that. Does this person care about how your child lives his life? How he acts in a restaurant? Does he say please and thank you? Is he flashy with his money?

“What makes me different is simple,” Sampson said. “While I’m tenacious and driven — and can be trusted to negotiate the best possible NIL deals and later NFL contracts — I’m also determined to help these young men build life-long security for themselves and their families.”

The Striking Similarities Between Military Veterans and NFL Players

Both are committed to demanding careers with immense physical and mental tolls. And both risk losing financial security and a sense of purpose when their time in uniform ends. “Whether it’s a veteran leaving the service or an athlete stepping away from the game, both deserve someone in their corner who understands how to plan for life after the uniform comes off.”

While the six-figure income disappears, responsibilities remain. Sampson helps players navigate that reality early, often starting in college, through contract negotiations and one-on-one mentorship.

“It’s not about chasing the biggest deal today,” he said. “It’s about setting athletes up for success tomorrow. On the field, in business and in life. If you’re looking for someone who not only understands the game but also understands the sacrifice behind wearing a uniform, then I’m your agent.
