High School Football Tonight in and around Guilford County and our Murphy Wainer Orthopedic Specialists Games of the Week

High School Football Tonight in and around Guilford County
Ragsdale(1-7) at Western Guilford(5-3) 7pm
Ragsdale starting to get a good footing after last week’s win over Smith by the Ragsdale Tigers…Western needs to get Timothy Baker and Caleb Moore back if the Hornets want to have a chance to win…Both have been out with injury…Ragsdale coming on strong with QB Sion Stevenson, RB Amire Barnes, WR/DB and former WG Hornet Hersel Smith, and Punter/Center/Kicker Sam Kluttz…Team that wins still has playoff hopes..

Page(5-3) at Smith(2-5) 7pm
Page coming off of that loss to Grimsley and Smith coming off of that loss to Ragsdale…Page has more weapons than Smith does, and with 2 active and very operative QBs in Zamari Williamson and Anthony Johnson, Page really has the edge in that department…Page has very athletic receivers, Smith has their do-all man in Darius Chukwuemeka, but the edge goes to Page…Winner of this game still has playoff hopes, but the loser does not…

WS Parkland(1-7) at Northwest Guilford(1-7) 7pm
One of those nights where NWG needs to get some injured bodies back, and if NWG has Rakem Hammock, then more than likely will this game…NWG has one real good chance to win a game this season, and this game is it…Can’t make a bunch of mistakes and survive, but if NWG can play a long stretch of error-free football they can put the “W” back in NWG…No playoff for the winner of the game, but, it will be a better day come Saturday, if you can find a way to WIN on Friday…

Montgomery Central(4-4) at High Point Andrews(6-2) 7pm
High Point Andrews still in the playoff hunt, but the Red Raiders need this game to keep some sort of positive momentum going in their direction…All games are must-wins now, and HP Andrews will look to backup QB David Hill to continue to lead them…A lot riding on this game, if you are a part of the HPA faithful…

High Point Central(0-8) at Lexington(4-4) 7pm
The chances of HP Central winning this game, look like Slim and None, and Slim left town yesterday, but hey if Central can just score a touchdown before the clock strikes midnight on Thursday October 30, then there may just a little bit of the lightning left in the bottle…But, as we eluded to earlier, Slim has left town, and he can not be found…I still do remember some of those Wayne Jones Bison playoff teams, from back in the day…

Dudley(6-3) at Grimsley(8-0) 7:30pm
The only thing standing between Grimsley and their perfect regular season right now is the Dudley Panthers…Dudley’s Defense looks to still be ahead of their Offense, but the Dudley has shown stark improvement on the offensive side of the ball…But, with all of that being said and done, Grimsley is still the superior team, and Grimsley needs a team like Dudley to pull out the best in Grimsley…Top teams play their very best football against teams that truly challenge their inner most character…Dudley will bring it out of Grimsley and Grimsley will end up marching toward their next Metro Conference Title…Dudley with Brayden Jeffries as their solid QB, just does not have all the fire power that Grimsley does…Too many wideouts on the Grimsley offense..Both clubs with solid RBs and QBs, but Grimsley has a large advantage at the wideout spot…Hudson Copper has become the Grimsley play-maker at WR in 2025, and the Grimsley D is still hanging their hats on stopping anything that gets ready to jump up and bit them…Both teams to playoffs, but Grimsley going 7-A, and Dudley going to the 6-A Playoffs…This game set to be broadcast on GreensboroSports Radio, with Demetri Morrison at the helm…Kickoff set for 7:30pm and this game set for GreensboroSports Radio

Northern Guilford(7-1) at Eastern Guilford(4-4) 7:30pm
This 6-A/5-A Conference is loaded and both Northern Guilford and Eastern Guilford are in the hunt for the Playoffs…Northern working to win the Conference and Eastern working to get in the playoff season…Both teams need this game to keep their plans intact, but the edge goes to NG if their running back Amare Akers is at full strength…NG with probably the top current active QB in Guilford County, and that being the Nighthawks’ senior Jaxson Kemp…Javion Majette is developing well for Eastern, and I think Majette is the better runner of the two, but for the most part, Kemp has higher tier talent at WR…Greyson Council and C.J. Morrison have been taking turns at seeing who turns out to be the top Nighthawk receiver each game, and that is a very good healthy competition to have going for you…Still the difference-maker for NG will be Akers at RB…Tyler Whaley-Melvin is a big strong RB for EG, but his speed can not match that of Akers…Akers does an outstanding job of getting his yards after the initial hit by the opposing tackler…Yards After the Hit are big for Akers…Got to get him to the ground if you are to be successful on defense…NG also has two outstanding linebackers in Chance Crews and Noah Smith…They play sideline-to-sideline defense as good as any pair in the state…EG with one heck of a linebacker in Samari Smith, but I am not sure if he has the help that Northern has between Smith and Crews…EG with some very good receivers in Keyvon Haynes, Evan Burns, and their freshman WR Noah Jordan…Punter/Kicker for EG, Cayden Nelson is a big kid, and he has a good foot, while NG goes with Kobe Guadardo at Kicker and Kyle Shultz as their punter…Has the makings of very good game, and much of it depends on the running of Amare Akers…Game on GreensboroSports Radio with Coach Randy Norris on hand for the call…Catch it on GreensboroSports Radio and that is our Murphy Wainer Orthopedic Specialists Game of the Week…

Northeast Guilford(6-2) at Asheboro(6-2) 7:30pm
This might be the best game on our local board this week…NEG with one of the top defenses around these days…Dre Deese has helped the Rams become a “Lights Out” defense…NEG still has a solid offense, but they have really found a way to survive and advance each week with their defense making it happen…Aaryn Tate is very good athlete, and helps NEG on offense and defense…Deese does the same thing…Antonio Escobar has become a more than stable leader of the NEG defensive line…Asheboro has a very steady offense led by their QB and he can run it on you, just as quick as he can pass it on you…Both offenses will be potent and that is why the NEG Defense must find a way to win out…Both NEG and Asheboro working for playoff positions…

Southeast Guilford(5-3) at Southern Guilford(2-6) 7:30pm
I am sure that Southeast Guilford wants to get their top running back Caleb Jackson back…He can make a huge difference for the SEG Falcons, and he gives them balance when the Falcons are able to run both him and Travis Motley in a rotation…SEG needs Jackson, just like NG needs Amare Akers, and WG needs Tim Baker and Caleb Moore…All of these teams need their runners…SEG is not a passing team, and you just can’t become one overnight…So SEG must run the ball…SEG has options if Jackson is back, with Motley ready to give him support and Joshua Williams-Hatten ready to run more if needed too…Amir Lyles and Terrence Norwood continue to pace the Southeast defense from their LB positions…Micah Martin is line leader up front, on the O-Line…Injured Falcon from last week at NEG, Josiah Gary, is just fine this week, and that is great news….Southern Guilford has RJ Scott, and the Storm have other key players too, but it all keeps coming back to Scott…SEG still digging hard for a playoff spot…

High Point Christian(8-0) at Hickory Grove(6-1) 7pm
HPCA looking for that rare Unbeaten Regular Season, and the Cougars join Grimsley, as the only two Unbeaten Teams in our area…HPCA all the way, with RB Jaylen Moore, RB Hez Krider, and QB Amsterdam Knox being the kingpins that make this machine click…Moore is the top rusher in our county, based upon his overall running back numbers…Playoffs are on the menu for the HPCA Cougars, but they can taste that Unbeaten Regular Season, and it has a nice taste to it…
