The main man for West Cabarrus Wolverines looks to be their senior quarterback, Johnta Harrison…Harrison stands at 6’3/225 pounds, and he has thrown for 1,438 yards, with 19 TDs/9 INT…Harrison has only hit on 100-257 passes, and that is good for a 38.9% completion rate…Harrison has run the ball 170 times for 800 yards and 9 TDs…His top receiver is Camari McCrae and he has 525 receiving yards with 9 TDs…Grimsley sees the return of their senior QB and the top overall high school football player in the country, Faizon Brandon…Grimsley also very strong with senior Micah Williams and sophomore Ty Shoemake at running back, and Grimsley has a whole host of talented receivers, led by Hudson Cooper…

The Asheville Cougars are paced by their sophomore QB Tay Williams, and has gone 102-148, for 1,581 yards, with 16 TDs/10 INT…Williams completing 68.9% of his passes…Williams rushing for -120 yards, but he has scored 9 TDs on the ground…Negative 120 yards rushing, but still scoring nearly 10 touchdowns…Top rusher for the Cougars is freshman TK Davis, with 566 yards and 2 TDs…Top receiver is Jams Skyes, a sophomore who has 41 receptions for 796 yards and 9 TDs…RB Davis at 5’6/146 pounds, and Skyes goes at 5’8/155…NG QB Jaxson Kemp with 1,448 yards passing with 17 TDs/7 INT. Asheboro Blue Comets QB Dallas Brinton has only thrown for 811 yards with 8 TDs/4 INT., going 64-113 for 64% passing mark, but running the ball is where Dallas Brinton has excelled…Dallas with 170 carries for 1,079 yards and 16 TDs…His brother Connor Brinton has run it 111 times for 602 yards and 9 TDs…Dallas weighs in at 168 pounds and Connor goes at 155, so both Brintons are very light…A balanced group of receivers for Asheboro…Dudley very strong with their senior QB Brayden Jeffries being a very steady and tough runner, and he is a good enough passer to have gone over 1,000 yards this season…Top Dudley runner is Michael Boone, top receiver is Vermont Carmack…Top defender is LB Robert McCollum…
5-A East:
#18 Dixon(6-5) at #2 Northeast Guilford(8-2) 7pm
The Dixon Bulldogs have a true Bulldog of a running back/quarterback in JJ Gulat…My lord this kid has put up some crazy rushing numbers…319 carries for 3,138 yards and 40 TDs…That is some crazy stuff right there…Over 3,000 single-season rushing yards and 40 TDs…WOW, and as the Bulldogs QB he has thrown for just 289 yards with 2 TDs/1 INT…With Dixon, you just run the ball…Gulat with 319 carries and right behind him, you have Sean Delaney, who has 1,129 yards rushing on 97 carries and he has scored 11 TDs…4,267 yards between Gulat and Delaney, and the two backs have ran for 51 TDs…WOW, but Dixon’s defense is porous and they gave up 50 to the Rockingham County Cougars, in Round One last week…Dixon won the game, 58-50….Dixon throwing the ball just 30 times in 11 games this season…NEG has their Rams’ “Lights Out” defense led by Dre Deese and it will be tested…Crawford and Campbell do a good job in the QB rotation system for NEG…Tate, Canty, and Hansford, along with Deese top receivers…Campbell is a good runner, like Elijah Jones for the Rams…Rams due to get Rayshawn Wilson back from injury this week….
4-A East:
#10 Clinton(6-5) at #7 High Point Andrews(8-2) 7pm
Clinton Dark Horses coached by former Ragsdale HS head coach Johnny Boykin…Clinton QB Miles McCallop has gone 111-197 passing for 1,629 yards with 19 TDs and 5 INT…Top Clinton runner is Gavin Miller with 666 yards and 13 TDs…Top Dark Horse receiver is Jonah Boone, with 583 yards and 9 TDs…Four of the Clinton five losses have been by 4, 5, 6, and 7 points, and all of those games very close…Andrews led by first-year head coach Mook Reynolds…And on the field you have QB David Hill, RB Von Martin, WRs Chris Fulton and Michael Hughes getting it done, and the Andrews Defense may be the strongest suit of the program right now…Hill for nearly 1,000 yards passing and he came in as the Emergency QB…

Harrells Academy(9-2) at High Point Christian Academy(10-0) 7pm….NCISAA Playoffs
1,889 rushing yards for HPCA’s top back, Jaylen Moore, and he has scored 30 touchdowns on the ground for the Cougars…He is the key, and let’s just wait and see how far these ‘Cats can go….
