Watauga’s QB Cade Keller threw for 267 yards, with Keller connecting for 21 of his 30 passes…Keller with 4 TD passes/0 Interceptions…Bowen Mayo was the big receiving threat for Watauga, with Mayo grabbing 7 passes from Keller, for 136 yards, and then the big number was the 3 TD receptions that he pulled in…Mayo also pullled in Two, Two-Point Conversion Passes from his QB Keller, and there was not much that Mayo missed on this night…Mayo also with 8 Total Tackles on defense for Watauga…

  1. One of the most up and down games I have ever seen. Watauga played an almost perfect game. Northern probably played one of their worse games, yet they still had a GREAT chance to win on that field goal. Kid had plenty of leg, just went wide left. I think everyone in the stadium was stunned that he missed, but a good number of Northern fans didn’t move for several minutes after the game. Heartbreaker for sure.

  2. Wished Northern could have started that last drive on their own 35-yard line instead of back around their own 10-yard line…Some big grabs by Council in the game, but Morrison couldn’t pull it in…Great running by both RB Amare Akers and QB Jackson Kemp….

Good line or two from WRALSportsFan.com/High School OT that I have been meaning to get in here, and here it is…
**********It is the first game decided by one possession that Northern Guilford has lost in two years – the Nighthawks, coached excellently by Erik Westberg, were a remarkable 9-0 in such contests before tonight/Saturday night.**********
