Friday Night High School Basketball Finals….And it was Greensboro Day School BIG twice over the Caldwell Academy Eagles…Girls Final:Greensboro Day 46, Caldwell Academy 31…Boys Final:Greensboro Day 84, Caldwell Academy 53

Girls Game
End of First Quarter:GDS 10, CA 3…Halftime:GDS 23, CA 12…End of Third Quarter:GDS 38, CA 19…Final:GDS 46, CA 31…Scored was tied up at 10-10 in the second quarter, and then GDS went on a 13-0 run, and the GDS Bengals were ready to run away with it…
GDS(13-11)/CA(8-5)
GDS Scoring:Hannah Headen 13 points, Kennedy Coller 11 and Coller with Three 3s, Amani Sides 6, Isabella Snipes 6, Asher Bowes 5, Kayden Grimes 4, Candance Robinson 1…Robinson may have only scored one point, but she did a great job of helping to move the ball, and run the offense, and set her teammates up for some nice shots…
CA Scoring:Naomia Roland 16 points, Summer Hitchcock 8, Deirdre Derengowski 6, Stella Streng 2…Lots of promise for Roland, tall guard that can play…Derengowski good at point, and Hitchcock has good height…They and the Bengals too, all need to get on the Reggie Dillard Elite Training Program…

Boys Game
End of First Quarter:Caldwell 12, GDS 11…Halftime:GDS 32, CA 28…End of Third Quarter:GDS 54, CA 40…Final:GDS 84, CA 53…Close game early, but GDS shooting picked up with Juergens and Duggins tearing it up from the outside, and the GDS Bengals defensive rebounding was nearly flawless…Caldwell was facing one-and-done on almost every offensive trip down the court…

GDS started shooting lights out from the field, and the CA Eagles were getting no second chance opportunities…With Micah Gunter and Marty Giant out front at guard, and guys like Julian Adigun throwing it down inside, GDS will be a hard team to stop…Ayden Johnson’s 17 points paced Caldwell Academy, but he was having to work his tail off for his shots…

CJ Jones did not start for Caldwell, but he came in at the beginning of the second quarter, but he never got his Three-Point shot going…Neal Swindell did not score in the second half for CA, and King Kendrick only had two second half points…Trevor Holland got hot for awhile and he scored eight second half points for Caldwell…Eleven players scored for GDS, and six men scored for Caldwell…

The crusher/killer for Caldwell was, GDS out-scored Caldwell, 30-13 in the Fourth Quarter…
GDS Scoring:Micah Gunter 19 points, Andrews Juergens 17, Grant Duggins 12, Marty Giant 8, Julian Adigun 8, Thomas Bowes 7, Aydin Wynn 4, Joey Giant 3, Mason Robinson 2, Jagger Emerson 2, Carter Motley 2…That Bowes kid was red-hot coming in off of the GDS Bengals’ bench…His sister, Asher, played for the GDS girls team, and she was a tough shooter too…
CA Scoring:Ayden Johnson 17 points, Trevor Holland 11, King Kendrick 8, CJ Jones 7, Neal Swindell 6, Avery Scales 3…
