Hardin most recently served as the head baseball coach at Walkertown High School and previously spent 18 seasons leading the program at Page High School in Greensboro. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation as a teacher of the game, mentor to student-athletes, and respected leader within North Carolina baseball circles.

“Coach Hardin’s passion for Louisburg College, his experience developing young men, and his long-standing commitment to the game of baseball made him an outstanding fit for this position,” said Athletic Director Mike Holloman. “He understands the tradition of this program and brings the leadership, character, and vision needed to move Louisburg Baseball forward.”

Hardin’s coaching résumé includes collegiate experience at High Point University, North Carolina A&T State University, and Greensboro College, as well as numerous leadership roles in statewide baseball events and organizations. He also served as a longtime instructor at Louisburg College Baseball Camps and has published more than 25 instructional baseball articles in national and regional coaching publications.

A former Hurricane student-athlete from 1983-1985, Hardin played under legendary coaches Russ Frazier and Elliott Avent before continuing his collegiate career at Elon College, where he helped lead the program to the NAIA College World Series.

“Louisburg College has always held a special place in my heart,” said Hardin. “This is more than just a coaching opportunity for me. This college helped shape my life, and I’m honored for the chance to lead a program that means so much to me and my family. I look forward to building relationships with our players, alumni, and community while continuing the proud tradition of Louisburg College Baseball.”

Hardin earned his bachelor’s degree from Elon College and later completed a Master of Science degree in Health and Physical Education from North Carolina A&T State University.

Hardin will begin his tenure as Louisburg College Head Baseball coach on Monday, May 18th and will immediately begin preparations for the 2026-27 season, including recruiting, roster development, and offseason player development initiatives for the Hurricanes.
