Carlson Reed had all the Speed his team would Need to Succeed, and when the Greensboro Grasshoppers got the Lead, they just turned it over to Reed, Lobo, and Larsen, and the end result was a NO-NO Show at First National Bank Field…Final Score from Friday Night, at FNB Field in Beautiful Downtown Greensboro:
Greensboro Grasshoppers 4, Hub City Spartanburgers 0
(This is our Fred Anderson Toyota of Raleigh Game Report.)

WP:Carlson Reed(3-2)/Caden Scarborough(0-1)
Hoppers' Line-4-6-0 Burgers' Line-0-0-1
This was the top pitching effort from a Greensboro Grasshoppers pitcher, so far this season…Reed them their rights, those Burgers are WELL DONE, and Reed is the man that Done It…It was like the return of Willis Reed for the Knicks, way back in the 1970s, as Carlson Reed went 7 Innings, allowing 0 Runs, on 0 Hits with 0 BBs/7 Ks…The Knicks are back this year, in the NBA Finals, and Carlson Reed was channeling the life of Willis Reed on this night…Carlson Reed threw Perfect Baseball for 7 Innings…NOBODY from Hub City even reached base vs. Carlson Reed…This was the best game we have ever seen Reed throw, and he has had some good ones over the years, especially in the Playoffs of 2024…But hey, what you gonna due, when Carlson Reed comes looking for you…
Here is a taste of what the Burgers did versus Carlson Reed on Friday night at First National Bank Field…..
First Inning Burgers:1)Yeison Morrobel Strikes Out Swinging…2)Luke Hanson Grounds Out to Second Baseman…3)Malcolm Moore Grounds to Reed who tosses to First Base…1-2-3…Second Innnig:1)Paxton Kling Strikes Out Swinging…2)Maxton Martin Flies Out to Left Field…3)Gleider Figuereo Grounds to Reed, who tossed to First Base…1-2-3…Third Inning:Quincy Scott II Ground Out to Third Baseman…2)Ben Hartl Pup Up Out to First Baseman…3)Carter Garate Strikes Out Swinging…1-2-3…Fourth Inning:1)Morrobel Grounds Out to Shortstop…2)Hanson Flies Out to Center Field…3)Moore Strikes Out Swinging…1-2-3…Fifth Inning:1)Kling Strikes Out Swinging…2)Martin Flies Out to Left Field…3)Figuereo Strikes Out Swinging…1-2-3…Sixth Inning:1)Scott II Line Out to Shortstop…2)Hartl Strikes Out Swinging…3)Garate Grounds Out to Second Baseman…1-2-3…Seventh Inning:1)Morrobel Flies Out to Left Field…2)Hanson Grounds Out to Shortstop…3)Moore Grounds to First Baseman….

Carlson Reed was eating those Burgers up, and he is our REMAX Revolution Player of the Game, and the old saying still goes, “Nobody’s Perfect”, but we must plead for Mr. Reed, ’cause he was throwing his ‘Perfect Game Stuff’, on Friday night…Secondary honors for Lobo and Larsen for keeping the thread going, when they entered the game, and we give them REMAX Revolution honorable mentions for the Friday Night Game…Mr. Reed, planted the seed and did his deed, Indeed Reed/He Did……
And how would you like to be Inmer Lobo and Kyle Larsen, and have to follow up on what Reed was doing…..Lobo came into the game, in the Top of the Eighth Inning, and he proceeded to Walk the first batter he faced, and that was the Burgers’ Paxton Kling…Lobo got the next two batters, Maxton Martin and Gleider Figuereo, and Lobo’s work was done, and Kyle Larsen took over…Larsen walked the first man he faced(Quincy Scott II), and then he got the third out, to close out the Eighth Inning, when Larsen struck out Ben Hartl…Larsen came back out for the Top of the Ninth Inning, and he walked the first Burger batter, Carter Garate…Then Larsen made out like Kit Carson, and took down the next Three Burgers in order, Morrobel(Strikeout Swinging), Hanson(Ground Out to Shortstop), and the final out of the No-Hitter was Malcolm Moore, who went down Swinging, in a very fitting way for this contest to come to a Close…
Lobo goes 2/3s of an Inning, with 0 Runs, 0 Hits, 1 BB/O Ks…Larsen shows us, an Inning and a-third, with 0 Runs, O Hits, 2 BBs/2 Ks…
And that was Some Kind of Game of Friday Night, and it has been a Roller Coaster of a Week…19-13 games(Tuesday), and then tonight we experience a No-Hitter, and near Perfect Game…
Hoppers now (3-1) vs. Hub City this week, and Greensboro is (10-6) versus the Burgers for 2025-26…Man, for the Friday night game, those are some impressive pitching numbers, and it sure was a nice-paced game, as that ballgame kept moving at a great clip…
Hoppers at the plate, with Easton Carmichael taking the hitting honors…Carmichael went 3-4/HR/1 Run/2 RBI…Yordany De Los Santos was 2-4/Run…Edward Florentino goes 1-4/Run…Top 3 Spots in the Hoppers’ batting order producing the Team Total of Six Hits…Carlos Caro was 0-2/BB/Run…Jared Jones 0-4/Run…Murf Gray went 0-3/BB…Brian Sanchez 0-2/BB…Hoopers with 1 Run in the Fourth(Carmichael Solo HR), 2 Runs in the Sixth Inning, and then 1 more Run in the Seventh…
When you have pitching like the Greensboro Grasshoppers got on Friday night, you don’t have to have a boatload of runs…Carlson Reed was in a zone on Friday night, and the Hoppers were able to eat up the Burgers…
Around the ballpark, we had Bill working as a Man on a Mission ushering….Dan The Man was in full form, in/at his concession station…Beth was back, and her concessions were doing a booming business…We had a new lady that was with us, and she was working concessions…She was on her first journey into the Hopper Nation, and we hope her night went well…Made sure she was able to find Drew at the Food and Beverage office, so she could get her night started right…Brad Stutts was working his MIC to near perfection in his role as Field Fan Motivator…Robert Stutts was waving those Ks, out there in the Circle K, K-ZONE…Mr. Stutts has had multiple needs for Tommy John’s surgeries, but he keeps keeping the Ks koming…From the office, Big Stephen Johnson was in a true Patriotic Frame of Mind, as led the Military Appreciation Night festivities on the field, before the game…Brad Falkiewicz from the CFO area was also overseeing much of the night’s activities, and don’t forget Davis Tomlinson, and his work, plus Anthony and Gary Flynn, and that top-notch field crew…The Team behind the Team, makes the game run the way it should run…And they got the job done again tonight…Don Tilley on the Scoreboard, Stuart Barefoot with his PA work, and Gavin Grace with the Video and Audio creative department…They all keep it rolling, and rolling strong…And Bob Perry is still making that clubhouse the tops in the South Atlantic League…
Better start finding a stopping point, because we are nearing the Finish Line for this Friday Night Edition of our Game Report…Got to keep pumping up Maggie Basse, Eric Dietz, Dylan James, Shonto Williams/Shanta Claus and others around the park, and we will do MORE tomorrow…Up near the top, we can’t forget Tim Vangel and Todd Olson keeping order and sanity, at the ole ballyard…
