Page High School Athletic Director Gordon Hagen has stepped down, after 3 1/2 Years of Service to the Pirates

Gordon Hagen, the Athletic Director for the Page High School Pirates, has stepped down from his role, as leader of the Pirates’ athletic ship…We call him Coach Hagen, from his time coaching football with the Pirates, and he put 3 1/2 years as the Page AD…

During his time as the Page AD, Gordon Hagen helped find and hire a new football coach, boys and girls basketball coaches, a baseball coach, track, volleyball, and soccer coaches, and MORE…Page installed a Turf Football Field, the only such field in the county on the high school level…Page reworked the wrestling room, put together a media room, established permanent baseball fencing, resurfaced the track, installed Tennis Seating, and Coach Hagen says he had great support from the Page Booster Club and from Page HS principal, Dr. Erik Naglee…
(Not sure, but thinking that Page got their video football and basketball scoreboards during Gordon Hagen’s time as AD, as well.)
Gordon Hagen and Page HS Athletics also added two new fulltime sports in the past year, with both Girls Flag Football, and Boys Volleyball now a part of the Page Athletics Program…..

So, things look to being great, and why would Gordon Hagen want to step down as the Page High School Athletic Director??? He is a family man first, and he really just wants to spend more time with his family, as his daughter Maddie gets ready to enter Page HS as an incoming freshman, for the 2026-2027 school year…His daughter plays volleyball, basketball, and soccer and he will now be able to follow her career more closely…He also has a son, who is going to be a 7th-grader at Mendenhall Middle School, and his son is also heavily involved in sports participation, and this will give Coach Hagen more time to be at his son’s games too…

Coach Hagen has been at Page HS since back in 2008, and he came to Greensboro from Ohio…Gordon Hagen left Page HS for one year, when he went over to Thomasville HS for the 2018-2019 school year, but then returned to Page HS, the following year…

Coach Gordon Hagen has always been very devoted to his work, and he hasn’t ruled out possibly returning to the football field one day, as a coach again…And he even feels like he might revisit the Athletic Directors role again in the future, after his children get all their sports finished up…

All-in-All, Gordon Hagen feels good about the job he has been able to do, for the past Three and a-Half Years as the Page High School Athletics Director…He will still be able to offer up help around the school, and he will still be in the classroom, as a teacher at Page High School…He will be available during the transition period, and he says Page hopes to have their new AD hire in place by July 1…

Coach Hagen has been very helpful to all involved around the Page Pirates Athletics Landscape for the past 3 1/2 years, and we should all take time today, to Thank Him for his time, and service to both the Page High School Community, and to the Guilford County Schools System…

Last day of school for the students is today, and Page HS graduation will take place on Thursday, at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex…

Thanks Again, to Coach Gordon Hagen, and we wish him continued success with his Family, and with his Page HS family….
