Greensboro Grasshoppers extend their Winning Streak to Seven Games with 10-8 Wednesday Win over Bowling Green Hot Rods: Sammy Stafura 2-4/HR/Double/5 RBI, Jhonny Severino 3-4/2 Doubles/3 Runs, Axiel Plaz 3-5/HR/2 Runs(Fred Anderson Toyota of Raleigh Report)[SAL, Hoppers, and Pittsburgh Pirates Info]

The weather is HOT, and these Greensboro Grasshoppers are HOT too…They have found a way to finish, and the team is now riding a Seven(7)-Game Winning Streak…Five Wins to close out the series, at Rome, Georgia, and now Two Wins in a-Row, in the Hoppers home series this week, versus the Bowling Green Hot Rods…

Final Score from Wednesday night, at First National Bank Field, in Beautiful Downtown Greensboro:
Greensboro Grasshoppers 10, Bowling Green Hot Rods 8
(This is our Fred Anderson Toyota of Raleigh Game Report.)

WP:Victor Cabreja(3-4)/LP:Ryan Andrade(3-1)

Hoppers' Line-10-12-2
Hot Rods' Line-8-13-2

Hoppers run their overall season record to (50-27), while the Hoppers sit at (9-2) in the Second Half of the South Atlantic League Season…Bowling Green falls to (53-23) overall, and the Hot Rods run at (6-5) in the second half…

The Hottest Hopper Hitters were:Sammy Stafura 2-4/HR/Double/5 RBI, Jhonny Severino 3-4/2 Doubles/3 Runs/RBI, Axiel Plaz 3-5/HR/2 Runs…Stafura with a Three-Run Home Run, and a Two-Run Double…Josh Tate was 2-2/BB/Run/2 RBI/2 SB…Brian Sanchez went 1-3/BB/Run/RBI…Dylan Palmer 1-3/Run…

For our REMAX Revolution Players of the Game, we will make it a quartet…Sammy Stafura, Jhonny Severino, Axiel Plaz, and Josh Tate…Those four produced 8 of the Hoppers 12 Hits, plus they scored 7 of the Hoppers 10 runs…

We did like the work turned in by the Greensboro Grasshoppers starting pitcher Jack Anker…Anker was pitching like an downtown banker, as he compounded his efforts going 4 2/3s Innings, and gave up 4 Runs, on 6 Hits, with 2 BB/8 Ks…Anker did sort of walk the planker, when he gave up a solo Home Run to the Rods’ Ryan McCoy, and that put Bowling Green up, 1-0 early…But Anker, making like that city banker at First National Bank Field, he gave the fans in attendance some good interest rates, with his 8 Strikeouts sending each person home with their reward of a FREE 20 Ounce Pepsi Product from the Circle K Convenience Stores…Not a bad deal on a Hot Night, and I can still see Robert Stutts waving those Ks, out there in the Circle K, K-Zone, there in the Grand Stand in left field…Mr. Stutts carrying the Ks, and making sure the Fans Know How Many Ks we have each day…..

Winning Pitcher for the Grasshoppers, Victor Cabreja, went to work for 1 1/3 Innings, and he gave up 0 Runs, on 1 Hit, with 0 BBs/0 Ks…Right man, Right place, at the Right time, and he he throws lefthanded…Solid bullpen finishing work turned in by Treyson Peters and Jacob Bimbi…But, I have to tell you, I have seen those two, throw better…

My mind and my head was racing home, and I thought we might be in for a quiet finish, when the Hoppers went ahead of the Hot Rods, 10-4, in the Bottom of the Seventh Inning…But the Hot Rods posted 3 Runs in the Eighth and one more run in the Ninth Inning, to make this contest close…

But let’s focus on the Bottom of the Sixth Inning, where the Hoppers posted Five Big Runs, to grab their 8-4 lead…
Jhonny Severino doubles on a line drive to left fielder Jhon Diaz. Edward Florentino to 3rd.
BG 4,GBO 3
Josh Tate out on a sacrifice fly to left fielder Jhon Diaz. Edward Florentino scores. Jhonny Severino to 3rd. 2 outs
BG 4,GBO 4
Brian Sanchez singles on a sharp ground ball to right fielder Marshall Toole. Jhonny Severino scores.
BG 4,GBO 5
Dylan Palmer reaches on catcher interference by Nathan Flewelling. Brian Sanchez to 2nd. Dylan Palmer to 1st.
Sammy Stafura homers on a line drive to left field. Brian Sanchez scores. Dylan Palmer scores.
BG 4,GBO 8

The Hottest Hot Rod Hitters on the night were, Tony Santa Maria who went 3-4/BB/Run/RBI…Narisco Polanco goes 2-4/Run/RBI…Carlos Colmenarez went 2-4/Run/2 RBI…Marshall Toole was 2-4/Double/Run/RBI…

Bowling Green’s starting pitcher, Jacob Kisting gave up 3 Runs, next up was Andrade and he allowed 5 Runs, then Bercovich gave up 2 more, and that is how you got your total of 10 Hopper runs…Would be very hard to pick out a Top Pitcher of the night, between the two clubs, as we saw a combined total of Eight(8) pitchers work in this ballgame…

We did see one ejection and it came in the Second Inning…Ejections:Hot Rods manager Rafael Valenzuela Jr. ejected by Home Plate umpire Brandon Ochoa…

The key thing I liked most about this game was the fact that it was the Greensboro Grasshoppers Seventh Win in a-Row….And that’s really saying something, when you have Wyatt Sanford, Tony Blanco Jr., and Jared Jones, all on the injured list…The Boys of Summer, from Greensboro, N.C., are carrying on…
